I took these photos of Christchurch's central city as reference images for a school painting project back in 2007.
Usually, I wouldn't bother with uploading a bunch of photos like this, but considering the recent earthquakes and the devastation they've caused to the inner city, I figured they might be of use for something.
Anyway, if you'd like to use one or any of these images, please feel free to do so - Although if you do use them, it'd be nice to hear or see what you've done with them! You can contact me at my main flickr account:

Please, feel free to comment if you have more information about this photo such as where it was taken, or which buildings it features, as my memory is a bit fuzzy on the details. I'm trying to geotag these shots as accurately as possible, so any help is appreciated!
At the very end of the night photography I got to play with double exposure. Might need a bit more exposure next time. Taken in camera using double exposure scene mode whilst camera on tripod so only changing element is Tim getting into the cab.I like the hard silhouette of the digger against the evening sky and the semi transparency of Tim .
Sand digger wasp (Ammophila sabulosa) excavating burrow on heathland. Surrey, UK.
Always an impressive sight. Plenty of them around but didn't see any with caterpillar prey on this occasion. The caterpillars I did see were too large to fit down this hole.
This Hyundai digger is bigger than anything the community woodland uses. I suspect it is being used for work the local council is undertaking to improve access up the mountain in an effort to get people more active. There are too many people up there now for my liking!

Voodoo is a Hurricane Katrina rescue that we got when he was a tiny puppy - maybe 10 weeks old. He was found wandering the streets of New Orleans at that tiny age. We agreed to foster him and, of course, fell in love and ended up adopting him. He was so sick when he got him - he had nearly every type of worm you could imagine from drinking that filthy water. (Luckily, he didn't have heartworms - the one that REALLY matters!) But we nursed him back to health and he's been our little boy ever since. He loves going to the Montrose Dog Beach and playing with his big sister Bella. He is very spoiled.
Before Digger showed up with the part pictured in Ike's hands, Ike asked me over the radio, "Where's all this corn coming from?", referring to the piles of corn spilling from the hopper in his combine. I told him, "Don't ask me. I didn't plant it".
Diggers stand idle on the first bank holiday weekend of may 2013 at the bocm site which is being redeveloped
The bees hovering in front of the entrance tubes in the bank face are female solitary ground nesting “Digger Bees.” The species is Anthophora bomboides stanfordiana. The species name indicates that it is a bumble bee mimic! These bees need a source of fresh water nearby. Females suck up water, regurgitate it on the sandstone bank surface, then dig away at the soft mud. They use some of the mud to build entrance turrets, presumably to help them locate their nests within the aggregation of nests. Source: Robbin Thorp.

It was my sister Digger's birthday today, but she's in NYC right now - so we had a day out in London a week or so ago, including a lot of art and plenty of beverages! All finished up with some champagne at the top of the OXO Tower - a great view!
