This is diffuse because you cannot see exactly where the light source is coming from. Also, although you can see some shadow, they are not as harsh as shadows that can be seen in a direct photograph.

This photo shows a soft lighting from the clouds out side and also the blinds. you can see the shadow beside the plant but its not a perfect outline making it soft lighting.
