I shot this early in Spring this year. I think the Oystercatcher was defending his nesting territory. The Eagle was defending himself and trying to eat a fish just caught. Both were not happy
One small and two much smaller relays. The only things in common between both types is that they are single pole devices (similar to ordinary light switches) controlled by low-voltage direct current power sources.
Unlike the larger solid-state (non-mechanical) relay, the smaller ones employ a tiny reed switch which can handle up to 200 volts AC or DC, but at a rather minimal 0.5 amperes maximum current, and requires a fixed three-volt DC source to operate.
The larger relay is 2.25" (57.2mm) long; the smaller relays are 0.78" (19.8mm) long.
I would've loved to get even lower but I was already starting to drown the upper part of my camera (it was hanging upside down underneath the tripod because there's this silly middle-column that prevents me from getting really low otherwise...)

Taken on the Pass of Glencoe, looking up at part of the Three Sisters, I was quite taken by the difference in colour at the snowline. The harsh rock given two different treatments by nature.
I was impressed by the different hues playing within the geometry of the city. From the power blue windows high above to the electric purple upon Union station.

Off ( hopefully) in a bit to explore the lanes on the bike, might make it to Southerndown (40 ish miles round trip) unless we get frozen on the way there!

Encyrtid Wasp (Cryptanusia comperei)
I spotted and photographed my first Encyrtid Wasp earlier this month (see first comment). This one is a different one in the same family. It was the antennae movement that caught my attention with this one.

Alvingham Watermill is a fully equipped 3 storey water-powered corn mill.
It is located on a 12th century site; a watermill is known to have been on this site since 1155. But there is evidence that this site has been used for mills previously, with a mill recorded here in the Doomsday Book of 1086.
Alvingham Watermill has an 11 ft diameter by 8 ft wide breastshot water wheel, dated 1782, and cast iron gearing by Sanderson and Louth circa 1820.
Water is channelled from the River Lud and culverted under Louth Canal in a brick tunnel.

Well I have principles or the environment I live in that tells me that this movement is forbidden in all its forms and ways but I really like the picture, I find it a work of art that should not be deleted
While the orange & black of the Rio Grande no longer ply the Moffat Route the color orange is still the predominant color thanks to BNSF trackage right trains. For that I am grateful.
Last year we made a trip to Scotland and London during the Easter holidays. We left London and took the amazing Caledonian Sleeper train and arrived to Edinburgh in a cold frosty morning (first photo in the comments). We are not used to that kind of weather. At noon we picked up a camper van to made a road trip to the Highlands. Our first stop was the amazing Cairngorms National Park. Really Really cold. We took a walk to the nearby Loch Morlich and we were witnessing a perfect dusk. The colors in the sky were amazing. You can see it in the second photo in the comments below. We had dinner in the camper van and we went to bed. At one moment during the night the heater went off due a lack of heating gas, and we were freezing. We woke up early and then, through the windscreen we were seeing the snow coming down. It was quite a moment. Kids were running in the Park, playing with other kids, and took another walk to the Lake, this time with a totally different view. No more colors in the sky or trees. For us an unforgettable moment.
