4-H Clover College is a four-day series of hands-on workshops for youth presented by Nebraska Extension in Lancaster County. Many of the projects made during the sessions are eligible to be exhibited at the Lancaster County Super Fair in August.

Trying my old lenses again.

Photos taken with Minolta AF 500mm f/8.0 REFLEX on Sony A7R4 with LA-EA5.

I have this lens for over 10 years now. I had always problems regarding focus with this lens and considered it (my copy?) not very sharp. Not much to worry about with a 30+ year old lens. But yesterday it was a bright day and I had some time on my hands, so I tried once more, with the mentioned combo at ISO 100.

Surprisingly the results come out pretty good, the focusing „on sensor“ that is possible really makes a big difference. Of course the lens is still not the sharpest, especially at 100% from 60MP, but it is more than acceptable and gives nice pictures. I definetley will use it more, as its also not to heave to carry.

......from my first photo, of this section, which was taken about forty minutes prior. The high Spring Tide of 10.31m from Walney Channel, seen to the left, had begun to recede having been onto the roadway to my right at this point.

The bridge seen in the background is Jubilee Bridge, known locally as Walney Bridge. It carries the main A590 road and is the only road access, and main pedestrian access between Walney Island, Barrow Island, and Barrow-in-Furness. The A590 stretches from Biggar Bank, Walney Island, to Jct.36 of the M6 Motorway, a distance of 35 miles(56.32km).
