Look around,
At life all around,
People complaining,
People following,
Doing what they will,
People acting without thinking,
Quickly sinking into the world.
To live in a world,
Where people depend on others,
For their ideas,
Of not only what they wear,
But who they are,
This is a truly a scar,
On the face of truth,
And of freedom.
Some people are mindless,
Letting other choose for them,
What they think of this or that,
They get so sucked in,
There’s no coming back.
I have thoughts others don’t see,
I have emotions others don’t feel,
I see the sky and become enamored,
While others see it and are indifferent,
Humanity is fighting against itself,
We strive to be normal,
When normal is different.
So look around,
Where do you fall,
Are you in the normal,
Or in the different?

I normally photograph rougher beaches- by the ocean and often with lots of pebbles on them. But they are also found in silent fjords like this one from last weekend in Hardanger.

I posted a similar shot of this discharge tower at the Craigmaddie Reservoir about 8 months ago. Since then some alterations & maintenance has been done. The A frame removed & metalwork repainted. This was taken on Tuesday & there was (very unusually) a significant police presence. Given the subsequent news that a woman’s body had been found in Glasgow that morning & police were searching this area for a missing man. Today (Thursday) comes the news that they have found a man’s body in one of these reservoirs & the police suspect a murder/ suicide. Scary - I might have been there when this was happening. I saw nothing.
Are they really different?
How man are different? On, two or three?
What is the reason of the difference?
The thickness? The color? The material?
Are they really different? They all are ropes ....
A difference between the Viceroy and Monarch butterfly is the black line drawn across the viceroy's hind wings, which the monarch lacks. The viceroy is also a bit smaller than the monarch, but this can be hard to tell unless they are together.
The best way to tell A Viceroy and Monarch apart when they are flying are their wingbeats. The monarch is lazier, looking like it is floating on slow wingbeats. The Viceroy, however, has much faster wingbeats with a frenetic, choppy flight.

The differences between the two species can be seen. The dark ear coverts of the Lesser (previous shot) are always shown in guide books darker than in reality.
I finally figured out this difference after talking to so many different people when the reign of Trump occurred and gauged their reactions. We've all been told there are major issues like abortion, immigration, health care, education...
But, I figured it out...the only real difference between a liberal and a conservative is that a conservative only reacts, votes, and advocates along certain lines when an issue directly effects them...so, the woman that votes for Trump even though her husband and father of her 4 kids is an illegal immigrant and then gets outraged when he's deported...or the many Americans who will get outraged when/if Trump completely defunds Obamacare and they are left with nothing...they don't think on the "we" basis. They think only about the "me."
But a liberal, a liberal cares when anything negatively impacts a member of our community. Because, we see the connection..it's not just about human rights we're talking about here, although plenty of liberals care about that. But, what I'm saying is that liberals understand their place in the world in a more holistic sense. We realize that if a member of the community, whether it is a Black man wrongfully killed by police or a an anti-Muslim ICE raid that leads to a harmful deportation and disruption of family lives, this negatively impacts the quality of life of everyone in the community and we cannot ignore it. A liberal realizes that all humans should be honored based on the identity they choose vs. the one they happen to be born with even if we ourselves are heterosexual because it makes for a more accepting world. A liberal realizes we need to invest in climate change solutions before we're actually under a rising sea level. A liberal realizes putting guns in the hands of people who are mentally ill so easily without any background checks is a detriment to the safety of all.
I realize liberals have gotten a bad name in some circles and media outlets...and, it's not hard to see why...we live in a self centered world where profit is a god and many conservatives all out for themselves are both unhappy and rich. They own so many more major media outlets and they control the message. But, let's be clear, money doesn't buy you happiness...being part of a community does bring happiness and increase your quality of life. And, if more people thought about the community aspect..more about the we and less about the I...the world would be a much better shared safe space for us to live in.
Just ask Denmark, the famous masters of hygge or happiness. They care more about the we. They make sure all people have some basic protections. And, though they seem fond of burning a bunch of candles around wooden furniture, they still have much fewer fatalities.

Peace does not mean an absence of conflicts; differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means; through dialogue, education, knowledge; and through humane ways.

"When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you
If your heart is in your dreams
No request is to extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do"

A close comparison shot of a black-headed gull (rear) and a Mediterranean gull in winter plumage. The bill of the latter is heavier and it's hood remnants extend closer to the back of the head. However, the most obvious difference is the wings, with obvious black tips for the black-headed gull.

What a difference a day makes; last Friday I was at a press call for the Moscow State Circus and the on Saturday I photographed a massive Orange Lodge march through Johnstone involving over 40 bands (it took at least 40 minutes to pass my viewpoint). While most people probably think that such marches are only held in Northern Ireland they are very much part of life here in Scotland as well as in parts of England. The weather was kind for once, if not a little too sunny given the length of their march, marching all round the town while playing their instruments and carrying their various banners is no mean feat!!
''After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning
And company doesn’t mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts
And presents aren’t promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn…
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure…
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth…
And you learn and learn…
With every good-bye you learn.”

Well, tell me, who is more dangerous: a rattlesnake or a carnivorous plant? There are so many problems to solve... Nevertheless: Have fun!
Shuwaikh port - Kuwait
The photograph shows a bit of the indifference in the municipality's supervision on coastal locations in Kuwait. As you can see, the beach is full of rubbish and dirt which has destroyed the natural look of the sand. Making the place somehow unusable. Anyway, it is also related to the people's awareness of this subject. I think multimedia means in the country must pay attention to this problem and raise people's awareness.
Technical Data:
It is not a HDR photograph, the bottom part is exposed by hitting a lot of flashes - which made me blind =D - by me and my friend. The white balance was taken down to 2700 to give this pinkish mood to the photo. Long exposure was used in order to prevent noise from high ISO and to give a special effect to the water.
Taken with Nikon D200
At first, I spotted the Green Heron and tried to zoom in to photograph. I snapped a few shots and then realized that the tree itself was interesting. I changed my position to shoot the tree and that made all the difference with the background. It turned out better than expected.
There are only 3-colors, 10-digits, and 7-notes in my life now but not too long ago those numbers were each in trillions.
Funny how one person can make all that difference.
Metrobus WS124 (SK19FBE) on Route 227 passing MEC58 (BF65HUZ) on the hill by Bromley Magistrates Court.
This highlights the differences between the two "full size" buses that Metrobus have for the two Shortlands routes.
