This room is part of the Old Royal Palace at Prague Castle and is known as the Diet Hall. It was built in the late Gothic style and used for meetings of the Bohemian Estates. The hall is notable for its impressive ribbed vaulting and the royal throne placed beneath a canopy decorated with the emblem of Bohemia. Here, important political and judicial sessions were held, along with ceremonial events.

Guess who won... ^.^

Akanin’ny Nofy/Nest Of Dreams a/k/a Palmarium Reserve

The black lemur (Eulemur macaco) is a species of lemur from the family Lemuridae. Like all lemurs, it is endemic to Madagascar. Elevated to species status by Mittermeier et al. in 2008, Eulemur macaco, the black lemur, has brown or orange eyes, and ear tufts.

It lives in northwest Madagascar. The black lemur occurs in moist forests in the Sambirano region of Madagascar and on nearby islands.

The black lemur primarily eats fruit, which makes up an estimated 78% of its diet. The ripeness of this fruit is vital to the lemur's diet. Other foods eaten include flowers, leaves, fungi, some invertebrates and, especially during the dry season, nectar.

The black lemur lives in both primary and secondary forest. It is active both during the day and at night. It forages in both the upper and middle canopy, especially at night, and during the day it also forages in the understory. In degraded habitats, it also forages on the ground and may even eat soil. Lemur listed with the IUCN as vulnerable. – Wikipedia

The tide was receding leaving an amazing assembly of worm casts and tiny depressed feeding pits. They are made by lugworms who have U shaped burrows beneath the sand and seabed. They eat microorganisms and organic debris. They are eaten by curlews, oystercatchers and godwits – plus crabs and fish! Some escape and live for several years.

The diet where anything you can get from a glass is okay, so fill up another glass of M&Ms for the road.

Three apples of an ornamental apple tree

Of course what new year doesn't start out with the resolution to eat better. I am not going on any trendy eating diets, just balancing everything, moderation in all things.

Seeing myself in the mirror I thought,

A diet wouldn't do me any harm,

Losing a few kilos should be helpful,

Overweight could cause some alarm.

First I tried a weight watcher's diet,

Consisting of points I must count,

Many foods allowed, even chocolate,

Though trying, I over-did the amount.

Another said drink lots of water,

Which helps to flush toxins away,

I soon gave up doing that diet,

For I sat on the loo half the day!

Then I read about eating low carb,

High protein, no bread, allowed cream,

Well I liked the sound of this one,

The food list to me was a dream.

But after a few weeks on low carb,

Things didn't work out the right way,

Was the opposite of the water diet,

For it clogged up the works every day.

Maybe a high carb one would be better,

Though no sugar or sweets like before,

Bread and cream were back on the menu,

But my sweet tooth took over once more.

I'm finished with all fad diets,

Found a balanced one holds the key,

For a bar of chocolate in both hands,

Is a well balanced diet for me!

The distinctive red-brown fur and long bushy tail of the fox are a familiar sight almost everywhere in the British Isles. Foxes are intelligent, adaptable mammals, opportunistic, with unfussy palates, and they make use of a wide range of habitats, including those of towns and cities. They are social animals, living in family groups of a breeding pair, together with cubs in the spring, and sometimes other subordinate juveniles and adults. The latter are usually young born the previous year and help with the rearing of cubs, feeding, grooming and playing with them. Each group occupies a territory, which is marked with urine and scats. Dens (called ‘earths’) may be dug in banks or make use of (disused or occupied) badger setts or old rabbit burrows. In urban areas, favoured sites for dens are under buildings or sheds, and in overgrown gardens and cemeteries.

Foxes hunt and scavenge with keen senses of smell and hearing, and probably use the latter to locate earthworms, which can make up a large part of their diet.

Glossy ibis

This glossy wading bird is a scarce visitor to the UK, though records have become more common in recent decades.

Scientific name

Plegadis falcinellus

The glossy ibis is a heron-like bird with a long, curving beak. They breed in parts of southern and southeast Europe and are occasional visitors to the UK. However, in recent decades sightings here have become more common, mirroring an increase in their breeding population in southwest Europe. Glossy ibises made a couple of breeding attempts in England in 2014 and 2016, with the first confirmed successful nest in 2022. It's predicted that breeding may become more common as climate change results in drier summers in southwest Europe and milder winters in the UK.

Most glossy ibises arrive in autumn, occasionally staying through the winter, though they could be seen in any month. It's often young birds that turn up here, sometimes just months after leaving the nest. Bird ringing projects have allowed us to see where some of these visiting ibises have travelled from, as they're fitted with a ring on their leg that allows birdwatchers to identify individual birds and trace their origins. Most of the ringed birds that have been spotted here were given their identifying rings as nestlings in Doñana in southwest Spain, though a few have been young birds from the Petite Camargue in the south of France.

Glossy ibises are usually found in wetlands or damp fields, using their long bill to probe the mud for food. They have a varied diet, mostly feeding on invertebrates like water beetles and dragonfly larvae, but occasionally eating newts, frogs, lizards, and other vertebrates. Their bills have special sensory organs in the tip that can detect pressure and vibrations, allowing them to find food buried in the mud.

A balanced diet is one that gives the body the nutrition it needs to function properly. In order to get a truly balanced diet, one must have a literal interpretation of this concept.

Dietes grandiflora / 烏葉鸢尾

I really have two selves...my music self and my street life self...but when they collide, it is to try to capture the energy in life, the joie de vivre in each moment. And, sometimes concert photography is fun and easy when it's an indie band you like who doesn't have the crazy rights grab photo contract and who actually might appreciate the fact that you enjoyed their set. The industry can be a real joy kill but there are still some great moments to be had.

There are some of you who only love my concert work and others of you who only love my street/protest work...but there are two selves that have to meet and reconcile as one. It's a struggle every day but these moments make it all worthwhile.
