Yes, that's a children's dictionary you see.

Finally, I find a clue to what in the world my boyfriend has been talking about. I still think that "arvo" is "avro"

I'm determined to use all of these words today. Watch out.

The reason the author has undertaken the production of this Introductory Asturian-English / English-Asturian Dictionary is to provide the Asturian Language with another tool which, despite its elementary nature, will be useful for those needing to translate between the two languages, or simply undertaking the pleasing exercise of discovering the equivalences between the languages of Xosefa Xovellanos and Shakespeare.

GLOW - n. A form of personality radience projected by select individuals. A facet of "being photogenic", one that cameras love. Sometimes referred to as "inner light" independent of and separate from all exterior lighting, ambient or studio. When it shines it can make even technically-poor photo efforts look good.

.....or rather my Dad's old dictionary.

When mum was sorting through the files and paperwork in his office she came across his old dictionary. I loved this dictionary as a child and although there are probably thousands of new words added since this edition in the 1950's, I will always have it, always use it and always treasure it.

Today I found my dictionary on the floor just inside the doorway of the family room. No doubt one of the lazy children couldn't walk across the room about put it back on the shelf from whence it came. And what does it matter if they just toss this old beat-up dictionary on the floor?

I received this as a gift when I graduated from high school. You know, back in the day when a dictionary was a very practical gift to give a college-bound student. Back in the day when I was thankful to have an electronic typewriter to take with me.

This old book and I have been through a lot together, and although don't use it much anymore, it still gives me comfort to know I always have an old reliable friend nearby.
