1.A harsh settlement unilaterally imposed on a defeated party.

2. An authoritative decree or order.

 

In the third week of school and I have already had to issue a diktat to my calculus students, "Participate in the discussion or drop the class!"

Tattoo Dictionary is an ongoing typographic art project, in which ball-point pen tattoo texts are drawn, documented and collected as a growing dictionary. Professional calligraphy and suitable pens give an impression of authenticity for the tattoos, but the possibility of easy removal may keep the subjects different than with permanent tattoos.

There is something about the expression on my face that reminds me of the print advertising for the tv series "Dexter".

 

Todays' Random Fact: I once woke up from a dream and the only thing that I could remember about it was the word "eviscerate", which kept repeating over and over in my head. Go ahead, look it up!

I made all of these except for the "punch" one. I used to have a "umbrella" one, that I colored in rainbow, but it died in the washing machine on my sweater :( .

I was at a bit of a loss as to what to photograph for today. The weather is mild, but the landscape is grey and brown and the sky is mostly grey.

 

Besides, I was stuck indoors marking assingments and waiting in for a package. And then I remembered the dictionary sitting by my elbow (essential for critiquing stories) and the obvious subject came to me. :)

The background paper is from a vintage foreign dictionary.

Some edits I made with the phone dictionary and some of my friends.
