That tin is Evil Baby Orphanage, from DFTBA. I think I'm going to add Donald Trump to the deck. I just have to figure out what his flavor text will be...

"hey nerdfighters! DFTBA <3, catherine".

Right back at you!

[Day 198 of 365]

I bought two copies of this book a couple weeks ago.

One for me and the other for my friend.

It's been sitting on my bookshelf staring me down ever since.

But I had to get through a couple other books first.

So I started it today.

And I spent basically all day reading it.

Paper Towns by John Green.

(Of Youtube's vlogbrothers fame)

I love love love it.

made Of awesome.

I was compelled to fully develop my old silkscreen project and make a poster for myself. All credit for inspiration to John Green’s ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ and Rodrigo Corral for the original cover design (which I have very blatantly stolen from). Thank you both for being awesome. Special shout-out to that yellow ‘signed copy’ sticker, which I couldn’t possibly leave out.

I'm sorry that I am a person of many cliches; this photo being one of them. This is one of my favorite lines from John Green's new book The Fault in Our Stars. If you ever do anything I say, please go pick up this and all of his books and read them. They are truly magnificent. View large (:

I first received "Paper Towns" for Christmas 2 years ago, loved it and have now purchased "Looking for Alaska" and a signed copy of "The Fault in our Stars"

The Fault in Our Stars!! All pre-orders signed!!

I can't really begin to tell you how much I love this photo/book. The writing is so prefect and I'd quote a passage but I'm following John Green's suggestions/request and not spoiling it for others.... just yet.

Oh and to anyone who would like to know I got a green sharpie J-Squiggle. :)

Random note: I really need a pro account. I'm sick of not seeing my old film photos.

So.. It came today.

Basically, since the summer, I have been waiting, anxiously watching new VlogBrother's videos, seeing the TFIOS thermometer in the background, sitting around for this.

This is not your ordinary book. This book has been signed by one of my favorite people ever, John Green.

This amazing human being signed every sing first edition of TFIOS. He was willing enough to accept the challenge Hank (his brother, hence VlogBrothers) and signed every last copy making thousands upon thousands of little NerdFighters everywhere happy as clams.

So thank you John and DFTBA.

The things that are my relaxation are: reading, listening to music, and crocheting/knitting.

Reading is something that I love more than anything. The best one on one time when I was a kid was with my mom...she would read to me and do the best voices, we would discuss the book and its characters. lol

She had me reading her college books because I was far more advanced than what I was reading in elementary school.

I do have a guilty pleasure in reading and I would say right now its young adult fiction...not of the twilight kind...however *hangs head* I did read that series...now I think, yikes, wtf. I don't care for teen romance cause well...I'm not a teen, but yeah most YA books do have a romantic aspect in them but as long as its not the focus then its ok for me.

This year my challenge is to read 50 books. I will be including classics that I've either never read or can't remember them cause I read them when I was so young. I recently re-read, The Old Man and the sea, lol I did remember it as soon as I was 20 pages in.

so far I've read for 2012:

1. The Monstrumologist

( I started it last year but put it down and not picking it back up til earlier this month wow, I regret doing that, good story)

2. The Old Man & The Sea

3. Will Grayson Will Grayson

To complete my John Green Book Collection, I finally bought TFiOS. I thought it'd be something like Before I Die by Jenny Downham but no. It's so much better to be honest. It may perhaps be my favourite John Green book.

i love you, internet

Dooce & John Green

If you don't know about John & Hank Green .. they're the brothers who didn't textually communicate for all of 2007 .. they vlogged everyday on YT. I was (and still am) obsessed with them.

And the new york look book b/c i'm a sucker for fashion and street photography.

Happy Halloween! Sorry I'm a bit late, but here's my Luna costume that I worked on these past two months. I'm pretty proud of it. My hair is in a braid in this photo only because I needed it to be so I could fit it into a hairnet for work, so I might take pictures with how my hair should be. And yes, yes I did make my own Quibbler. Thanks to; gamma-ray-burst.deviantart.com/art/Contraportada-Quibbler...

DFTBA.

One of my favorite parts of The Fault in Our Stars.

Here is a Graduation Cap I made for a fellow Nerdfighter who was graduating high school.

DFTBA!

At Book People in Austin for the will grayson, will grayson book signind event, I met this cool girl who was clearly a bona fide nerdfighter. AND she liked Spider-Man AND she let me take this picture on my phone. Because nerdfighters are just plain awesome like that.

And if you don't know what a nerdfighter is, you can find out here.

John Green Party for Teens at Pinney Library

So we were buying a young adult book and through Brotherhood 2.0 I became a fan of John Green so I decided a John Green book was the way to go. Inside a copy of his new book Paper Towns we found this note.
