"Roughly translated, the word ‘Wendigo’ means ‘the evil spirit that devours mankind’. Another translation, said to be made by a German explorer around 1860, equates the word ‘Wendigo’ with ‘cannibal’. Wendigoag are said to have an insatiable hunger for human flesh - no matter how much flesh they eat, they remain hungry.
This hunger is reflected in their appearance, which, according to some, is extremely thin. Despite their gaunt physiques, Wendigoag are described by some as giants, measuring at about 4.5 m (14.8 feet) in height. Whilst there are slight variations as to the physical description of this creature amongst the different Algonquian peoples, it is generally agreed that Wendigoag have glowing eyes, long yellowed fangs and long tongues. Most Wendigoag are also said to have sallow and yellowish skin, though others say that they are matted with hair or have decaying skin."

As the land does stretch out wide
Deep in the beautiful countryside
A mouth does find its daily bread
On sweet nature, it is fed
Under the tree, it is seen
Feeding on the delicious green
Devouring the treasure, that does rise
miraculously before all eyes
Deep in the beautiful countryside
That stretches out, green and wide
Not sure if the prey is a western cotton tali or jackrabbit. I am sure that Ferruginous Hawk can rips off huge chunks of flesh and devour it rapidly.
Mantling: The wings are spread to conceal his kill from other birds and predators who might steal it.
Whether it be flesh or metal, all that satiates the great hunger burns alike.
Just a quickie made in a couple hours. I only used parts I had gotten from Bricks Cascade back in May. Nothing else!
Thank you Loafbuilds for the edit!
Lots of excitement about the snow. This starling is taking it in stride in the cape myrtle waiting for me to leave so that it can devour some corn chips on the lawn.
On the ground , you do lie
Underneath the passion filled sky
That sends light to kiss your skin
Slipping Its rays deep within
You feel Iit's hotness sinking down
You devour it and you drown
In its heat, as it does race
Across your skin and your face
Urgently invading, your very core
Excitedly, you demand more
Of the hot stream, that does fly
Over the ground, where you lie

Another from a very long series of images of this Otter cub eating an octopus. It took him around 20 minutes to haul the octopus up onto this rock, and then proceeded to devour it for another good 20 minutes. One of my best Otter sightings to date.
This beautiful speciman was busy devouring a frog on a limb at Jungle Island. He was not intimidated at all by our presence as he became part of the annual bird count.
A blue-billed white tern, or manu o KÅ«, tends to a coddled two-day old downy hatchling peeking out from under its wing. The manu o KÅ« is an arboreal nesting seabird that thrives in urban Honolulu. Monomorphic parents alternate fishing and nesting duties. Adults fish up to 120 miles offshore and return with fresh provisions rather than devouring then regurgitating a meal for their chick. This avian behavior was known to Polynesian voyagers and other seafarers. A landmass that may be out of view over the horizon could be located by following these birds conveying their catch back to their nestling.
Took this movie down at Dave’s dad’s. The little fawns we’re out like crazy and devouring his roses and other plants.
I descend on your pink
My tongue it tastes and does sink
Searching for the delicious sweet
Nectar found, as my greed does meet
The softness of your gorgeous pink
That i devour and slowly drink
The beauty of your hidden treasure
Filled with wildness and with pleasure

Conditions are not always favorable to see bears catching salmon. The first day plenty of bears were in the water but the fish were hiding downstream. The next day the fish ran, perhaps because it had rained overnight and raised the river. But now, first thing in the morning, there were no bears. After a few peaceful hours they arrived, twenty or so by afternoon, and began devouring the salmon. We heard forty bears came the next day, but it was pouring rain and we did not make the trip.

This Osprey pair have eggs on the nest and the male always delivers food to the female who sits on the eggs most of the time. The interesting thing is, every time he brings a fish, he has already devoured the head. I'm not sure if the head is a delicacy, or not, but I would like to get a shot of him with a entire fish at some point!
