Strawberry rhubarb turnovers. The insides are thickly painted with rhubarb coulis and filled with macerated strawberry slices. Milk wash with cinnamon sugar on top, followed with a strawberry drizzle glaze.

This capital looks modern to me. Does anyone know? Plaimpied is just south of Bourges. It is a lovely small church with many interesting capitals.
Hope is an exceptional child. She is five years old, and already is reading chapter books. What really astounds me is that, at the tender age of five, she knows the difference between various kinds of bell peppers. Now I'm a teacher, and while I have some gifted students, I know that there are 14 year olds that I teach that don't know what a bell pepper is, much less that there is more than one kind.
Anyway, in addition to being brilliant, Hope is also your typical five year old----full of energy, loves to play with her younger sisters, and absolutely loves cupcakes, obviously.

I laugh now, but these old Buick's used to scare me when I was 3-5 years old. These Buicks looked like they were ready to devour something.
Reminds me of the kzin in Larry Niven's Known Space novels. I have no idea how a kzin came to be napping in my living room, but fortunately he was ok with cat food for supper.

Not sure what this lion is doing to the person between his paws, but it was an interesting theme in the main church of Barga. A theme repeated a few times here, and regionally, too. We saw variations in churches in Lucca, and other villages we visited. Predominantly gracing the church exteriors, but even as part of the altar or pulpit (as in this case).
