The band and I shot new promos last night in CJ's living room. Just might have been the tightest shooting space I've ever shot in. Seems to have come out well though. We have dropped a few band members so we needed the new ones.

Vespidae, Paper Wasp, (Polistes bellicosus) devouring Monarch (Danaus plexippus), 4th instar larvae on Milkweed, Asclepias curassavica, 4/18/2015, The Landing's Sparrow Field, Skidaway Island, Savannah, Chatham Co., Ga..
Monarch females have been active since, 4/1/2015 ovipositing onto the 4 Milkweed Species on our 150 yard "Pollinator Friendly Area" berm. We have three newly planted milkweed species (seedlings) now 3-6". I expect without this wasp species predator our new Milkweed plantings would be stripped of leaves.
There is an amazing wonder in the balance of the ecology of our insects.

Do we ever truly fear the idea of being consumed by love? I see people fall victim to it all the time. Heck, even I have done it before, and it causes a world of hurt. Being in love is one thing. Being devoured by it is quite something else.

This cicada has already been devoured by the ants... and only the shell remains of its noisy brief existence.
A visit to Mt Wilson in the Blue mountains, just west of Sydney on the weekend to see some great works by Rhys and Edwin and other artists who were raising money for the volunteer bush fire brigade we went down to the areas that were affected by the fires.
The bush had been making a comeback after the recent fires... while no-one likes to see the damage of the bush and properties, the re-generation taking place in the bush is just great.

This thing had about 30 ants taking turns pulling little pieces off of it and convoying them back to the lair.

At night, two wolves, predators that usually avoid people, paid us a visit, staring our guide (here sleeping in the back) in the eye. Only after he flashed the torch and stood up, they fled. Meanwhile we slept right through the scene. Just in case, we exchanged the open sky for the Lada the rest of the night.
