On the last day of the Holy Lake Festival at Sri Vitthal Dham, a team of residents and German devotees performed a play based on the life of Sant Narahari Sonar, a goldsmith from Pandharpur and devotee of Lord Shiva. Narahari's devotion was so intense that he refused to even look at the Temple of Vitthal. One day, a merchant seeking the blessing of having a child was instructed by the temple priest to offer a golden belt to Vitthal, a request that only Narahari could fulfil. Though Narahari initially refused, he eventually agreed on the condition that he would not enter the temple. After numerous failed attempts to fit the belt, Narahari agreed to enter the temple blindfolded to make the necessary adjustments. As he touched the deity, he felt the familiar features of Shiva: his hair, his trident and his damaru. It was at that moment that Narahari realised that Shiva and Vitthal were one and the same.

through-out my vacation in the Philippines, i only took few great shots, because i was in 'MF' (manual focus) mode. IT'S FREAKING HARD! i promised myself that my next vacation in the Philippines, i must have a telephoto lens, or a new camera body(with AFmotor) hahaha! i've always wanted to be into Street photography.
There are fervent Buddhist here at Long Shan Temple, but also tourists. I love the contrast between the curved old woman praying and the girl in hot pants and boots taking a picture at the back.

This pic was taken after I was discharged from hospital during the trek when a lung infection develped into Acute Mountain Sickness and had to be evacuated on horseback, yakback, tractor, public bus and a taxi back to Lhasa. The hospital stay was three days and really bored me to tears thinking of how my holiday was ruined.

Lalibela, located in northern Ethiopia, is one of the holiest cities in the country and was Ethiopia's capital from the late 12th into the 13th century, ruled by Emperor Lalibela. Known for its 13 monolithic rock hewn churches that were most likely built during his reign, many have biblical name references and are assumed to be a representation of the old Jerusalem.
As part of the church complex a new museum has opened and includes are large collection of sacred objects like vestments, crosses, bells and musical instruments as well as religious manuscripts. They were formerly used or stored in the various churches, and the establishment of the museum will help to preserve an important part of Lalibela's and Ethiopia's cultural heritage.
