A small but devoted group gathered in Whitehorse for a 24hr vigil from 3:50pm December 11th to 3:50pm December 12th. Over the 24 hours nearly 100 people came out to brave the -25 temperatures and make sure that the candles remained lit. Even the Yukon's only member of the federal Government, the Honorable Mr. Larry Bagnell came out to show his support with a brief 10hr stint as keeper of the flame. Now we need the rest of the Canadian Government to step up and take responsibility for their actions and the will of the people.

Swans are devoted parents, keeping a watchful eye on their brood, allowing them to ‘hitch a lift’ on their backs and diligently teaching them how to feed on the underwater plants which will form the main part of their diet. The family group remains together until the winter or following spring when the juveniles are evicted from the breeding territory. Young birds may then join flocks of non-breeding swans, and often remain in these colonies for two or three years until they are old enough to breed. They will eventually form a pair bond and begin the search for a vacant nesting territory.

This album is devoted to Hana’s life in photos from 2004 when we re-homed her from the RSPCA until December 2015 when she sadly died.
Hana had a bad start in life, being one of 40 dogs being kept in very poor conditions in one house. Thankfully the RSPCA rescued all the dogs and found new homes for them.
Hana continued to have many health problems during her life including being afraid of many sounds, IBS which meant she was always on special diets, allergy problems, a heart murmur and in her final year she developed a canine version of Dementia.
Hana was a very affectionate dog and was totally devoted to our Sheltie, Bonsai. Sadly Bonsai died in 2009. Shortly after we were lucky enough to re-home another Sheltie called Mia who bonded immediately with Hana, as you will see from the photos.

There are moments when the music fades, the stage lights dim, and I find myself needing to retreat into a different kind of ritual. You know how much I love to play with the darkness, but I know many of you have a very specific… devotion… to the softer side of my aesthetic.
I recently spent an afternoon in one of my favorite hushed, stone sanctuaries for a photo series I’ve titled The Altar of My Feet. I wanted to create a space where your gaze could linger exactly where I know you want it most. There is something so intoxicating about the cold touch of an ancient altar against the warmth of my skin, and the way the candlelight catches the curve of an arch or the tips of my dark-clad toes.
A Ritual of Reveal
I’ll admit, I find a delicious kind of power in this indulgence. As I posed amidst the gargoyles and stained glass, I wasn't just thinking about the art—I was thinking about you. I was imagining your eyes tracing the delicate black ink on my skin and feeling the weight of your collective adoration.
The Sensation: The whisper of lace and the cool air of the cathedral on my bare soles.
The Tease: Knowing that while I am the one on the altar, it is your worship that brings the scene to life.
The Connection: My feet are my most private gift to you, a quiet "thank you" for the way you support my music and my soul.
I felt so beautifully exposed and yet so completely in control. It’s a rare thing to feel like a goddess and a temptress all at once, but seeing the way these photos turned out, I can see why you find it so hard to look away.

Devoted and Disgruntled 3: over 200 of us gathered together over the weekend of 5/6/7 January at York Hall, Bethnal Green for Improbable's third Devoted and Disgruntled, What are we doing about theatre?
It was wonderful to have so many people together at the beginning of the year to continue working on the issues that are important. The report generated by everyone over the three days is available to read in the shows section of the Improbable website.
Stephanie's faithful - less than half of those who showed up for her talk at Legacy Books in Plano. A thoroughly different place with a thoroughly different vibe from Book People, but the knitters were equally lovely and the store is gorgeous.
I spotted a Twisted Yarns tote bag in the crowd and, upon checking, discovered I was not the only traveler in from Houston. :)
