I am seeking, I am striving, I am in it with all my heart.

As devoted grandparents, we sometimes leave the house at silly o'clock to watch our youngest grandson play indoor soccer. This was one of those mornings - a two hour plus drive for two Tristan goals and a 5-3 win. No editing here...

Just whilst I'm on the subject of devoted husbands...and wives of course. It was lovely to witness the protective care this gentleman gave to his slightly less able wife. A lovely bond seemed to exist between them and I feel really and truly treasured by my husband too despite the vast differences in our upbringings and education etc ect... and are so happy together and are rarely apart for more than an hour in any given day.....

I told you so

Unexpected insane leaders would rule the world

People would vote for them

would vow for them

would bow at them

and, eventually,

they would hate them

till going back to the begining

and starting once again

~~~~~
Te lo dije
Que líderes dementes gobernarían el mundo
Que la gente les votaría
les juraría devoción
se inclinaría ante ellos
y finalmente,
les odiaría
hasta volver al principio
y comenzar de nuevo una vez más
All the compositions in the vestibule of the church are devoted to the theme of the Last Judgment. From Old Slavonic, this is translated as "last", "final judgment of God". The composition in the Kirillov Church is the oldest and most detailed depiction of the scenes of the Judgment in ancient Russian art of the 12th century, which has been preserved in the form of frescoes. But in the temple, the image has reached our days in fragments. Most of these paintings are restorations of the 19th century. One fresco illustrates the parable of the rich man and Lazarus in hell, described in the Gospel of Luke, and the other - scenes from the torments of hell.
Усі композиції у притворі церкви присвячені тематиці страшного суду. Зі старослов'янської це перекладається, як "останній", "остаточний суд Божий". Композиція в Кирилівській церкві найдавніша і найбільш детально зображує сцени Суду в давньоруському мистецтві XII століття, що збереглося у вигляді фресок. Але у храмі зображення дійшло до наших днів фрагментарно. Більшість цих розписів – реставрація XIX століття.
Одна фреска ілюструє притчу про багатія і Лазаря у пеклі, описану в Євангелії від Луки, а інша – сцени з пекельних мук.
Hopelessly Devoted to You
Olivia Newton-John
Guess mine is not the first heart broken
My eyes are not the first to cry
I'm not the first to know there's
Just no getting over you
You know I'm just a fool who's willing
To sit around and wait for you
But baby can't you see there's nothing else for me to do
I'm hopelessly devoted to you
But now there's no way to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
I'm outta my head hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
My head is saying fool forget him
My heart is saying don't let go
Hold on to the end, that's what I intend to do
I'm hopelessly devoted to you
But now there's no way to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
I'm outta my head hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
fungus (plural: fungi or funguses is any member of the group of eukaryotic organisms that includes microorganisms such as yeasts and molds, as well as the more familiar mushrooms. These organisms are classified as a kingdom, separately from the other eukaryotic kingdoms, which by one traditional classification include Plantae, Animalia, Protozoa, and Chromista.
A characteristic that places fungi in a different kingdom from plants, bacteria, and some protists is chitin in their cell walls. Fungi, like animals, are heterotrophs; they acquire their food by absorbing dissolved molecules, typically by secreting digestive enzymes into their environment. Fungi do not photosynthesize. Growth is their means of mobility, except for spores (a few of which are flagellated), which may travel through the air or water. Fungi are the principal decomposers in ecological systems. These and other differences place fungi in a single group of related organisms, named the Eumycota (true fungi or Eumycetes), that share a common ancestor (i.e. they form a monophyletic group), an interpretation that is also strongly supported by molecular phylogenetics. This fungal group is distinct from the structurally similar myxomycetes (slime molds) and oomycetes (water molds). The discipline of biology devoted to the study of fungi is known as mycology (from the Greek μύκης mykes, mushroom). In the past, mycology was regarded as a branch of botany, although it is now known fungi are genetically more closely related to animals than to plants.
Abundant worldwide, most fungi are inconspicuous because of the small size of their structures, and their cryptic lifestyles in soil or on dead matter. Fungi include symbionts of plants, animals, or other fungi and also parasites. They may become noticeable when fruiting, either as mushrooms or as molds. Fungi perform an essential role in the decomposition of organic matter and have fundamental roles in nutrient cycling and exchange in the environment. They have long been used as a direct source of human food, in the form of mushrooms and truffles; as a leavening agent for bread; and in the fermentation of various food products, such as wine, beer, and soy sauce. Since the 1940s, fungi have been used for the production of antibiotics, and, more recently, various enzymes produced by fungi are used industrially and in detergents. Fungi are also used as biological pesticides to control weeds, plant diseases and insect pests. Many species produce bioactive compounds called mycotoxins, such as alkaloids and polyketides, that are toxic to animals including humans. The fruiting structures of a few species contain psychotropic compounds and are consumed recreationally or in traditional spiritual ceremonies. Fungi can break down manufactured materials and buildings, and become significant pathogens of humans and other animals. Losses of crops due to fungal diseases (e.g., rice blast disease) or food spoilage can have a large impact on human food supplies and local economies.
The fungus kingdom encompasses an enormous diversity of taxa with varied ecologies, life cycle strategies, and morphologies ranging from unicellular aquatic chytrids to large mushrooms. However, little is known of the true biodiversity of Kingdom Fungi, which has been estimated at 2.2 million to 3.8 million species.[5] Of these, only about 148,000 have been described,[6] with over 8,000 species known to be detrimental to plants and at least 300 that can be pathogenic to humans.[7] Ever since the pioneering 18th and 19th century taxonomical works of Carl Linnaeus, Christiaan Hendrik Persoon, and Elias Magnus Fries, fungi have been classified according to their morphology (e.g., characteristics such as spore color or microscopic features) or physiology. Advances in molecular genetics have opened the way for DNA analysis to be incorporated into taxonomy, which has sometimes challenged the historical groupings based on morphology and other traits. Phylogenetic studies published in the first decade of the 21st century have helped reshape the classification within Kingdom Fungi, which is divided into one subkingdom, seven phyla, and ten subphyla.
The Nancy School Museum is devoted to the artistic movement of Art Nouveau in Nancy (early 20th century) known as the Ecole de Nancy (Nancy School). Housed in the former property of Eugène Corbin, a great patron of the movement, it contains some very fine pieces.
Let’s discover for example this cozy living room. A superb grand piano dated 1905 by Louis Majorelle, called "the death of the swan" sits in the middle of the room. The first of the 2 paintings, dated 1905, is a portrait of the Corbin couple by Victor Prouvé. The 2nd painting dated 1902 shows a city scene at the beginning of the 20th century by Charles Wittman.
Un salon cossu
Le musée de l'École de Nancy est consacré au courant artistique de l'Art nouveau nancéien (début 20ème siècle) connu sous le nom d'Ecole de Nancy. Aménagé dans l'ancienne propriété d'Eugène Corbin, grand mécène du mouvement, il contient de très belles pièces.
Découvrons par exemple ce salon cossu . Un superbe piano à queue daté de 1905 de Louis Majorelle, appelé "la mort du cygne" trône au mileu de la pièce. Le premier des 2 tableaux, daté de 1905, est un portrait des époux Corbin par Victor Prouvé. Le 2ème tableau daté de 1902 montre une scène de ville au début du XXe siècle
de Charles Wittmann.
2022 marks the year that Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of devoted and loyal service to her people.
Celebrations will be happening in Britain and around the world during the Platinum Jubilee Central Weekend which takes place from 2nd to 5th June.
How apt it is that today, the 2nd of June, I should receive my special limited edition Queen's Platinum Jubilee Commemorative Bear from Merrythought in Britain. So it is with the deepest pride and pleasure that I present her to you.
She has been hand made from customised, platinum-tipped diamond white mohair plush, and she has The Queen's blue eyes and a hand stitched nose and enigmatic smile.
Her Majesty's left paw is embroidered with the years 1952 and 2022, in between which sits the royal crown. She is wearing a coronation robe of purple velvet, featuring satin lining, ermine trim, and extensive golden embroidery. Keeping true to the original Imperial robe, it is accessorised with two satin bows and luxury Italian tassels to finish.
Her Majesty's crown is a silver-plated replica of the Imperial state crown, which Her Majesty wore as she left Westminster Abbey after her coronation. It is studded with twenty six gemstones, has a purple velvet lining and white ermine trim.
Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Commemorative Bear is number 557 of a worldwide limited edition of 1952.
God bless her Majesty! Long may she reign over us!
The famous byzantine Lamentations of the Tomb of Christ, sung during the Matins of Holy and Great Saturday (Holy Friday evening). The official name of the hymns is "Εγκώμια", which is greek and means "Praises". The Praises (although considered being hymns of lament) are chanted in Plagal 1st and 3rd Tones, which are actually used for chants intended for triumphant occasions. On this performance parts of all three Staseis of the Praise are chanted. Note that in the beginning of each part, the second verse is chanted in arabic.
Title: "Εγκώμια - Α' Στάσις / Β' Στάσις / Γ' Στάσις" (Praises - 1st / 2nd / 3rd Stasis)
"The funerary chapel contains prefigurations of the Virgin and Themes of Resurrection and Judgment. Like the narthexes, the program of the parekklesion is divided between the Virgin and Christ. Here, however, the overriding theme is Salvation, befitting a funeral chapel. The western domed bay is devoted to the Virgin; the upper walls represent Old Testament prefigurations of the Virgin, emphasizing her role in Salvation. The eastern bay is devoted to the Last Judgment. The complex program of the chapel culminates in the conch of the apse, where the Anastasis (Harrowing of Hell) is represented, flanked by scenes of resurrection. Unlike the narthexes and the naos, the parekkelsion is decorated with frescoes."
Gospel hymn | Christian Music Video | 2018 "Give Mind and Body to Fulfill God's Commission" | The Great Mission of Christians
www.holyspiritspeaks.org/videos/fulfill-God-s-commission-...
Introduction
I
As members of the human race,
as Christ’s devoted followers,
it’s our duty, our responsibility
to offer up our minds and bodies
for the fulfillment of God’s commission.
For our whole being came from God,
and we exist thanks to His sovereignty.
For our whole being came from God,
and we exist thanks to His sovereignty.
II
If our minds and bodies aren’t for
God’s commission or mankind’s righteous cause,
our souls will be unworthy of those martyred
for the sake of God’s commission,
much more unworthy of God
who gives us everything.
For our whole being came from God,
and we exist thanks to His sovereignty.
For our whole being came from God,
and we exist thanks to His sovereignty.
For our whole being came from God,
and we exist thanks to His sovereignty.
For our whole being came from God,
and we exist thanks to His sovereignty.
The Guellala Museum is located in the southern part of the island, on its highest peak, Tassida (52 meters above sea level), near the town of Guellala and offers panoramic views over the island. The museum's themes revolve around Djerba's cultural heritage, and the museum itself is a replica of a traditional Tunisian home, showcasing the daily lives of its inhabitants. Some of the exhibitions are devoted to traditions and rituals, others to myths and legends, and still others to art, calligraphy, and ceramics.
Museum de Guellala położone jest w południowej części wyspy, na jej najwyższym wzniesieniu – Tassida (52 m n.p.m.), nieopodal miejscowości Guellala, skąd można podziwiać panoramę wyspy. Tematyka muzeum skupia się wokół dziedzictwa kulturowego Djerby, a samo muzeum jest odwzorowaniem tradycyjnego tunezyjskiego domu, gdzie można zobaczyć jak wyglądało codzienne życie mieszkańców. Część ekspozycji poświęcona jest tradycjom i obrzędom, kolejna mitom i legendom, a jeszcze inna sztuce, kaligrafii czy ceramice.
In the biblical narrative of the Books of Samuel, David is described as a young shepherd and harpist whose heart is devoted to Yahweh, the one true God. He gains fame and becomes a hero by killing Goliath. He becomes a favorite of Saul, the first king of Israel, but is forced to go into hiding when Saul suspects David of plotting to take his throne. After Saul and his son Jonathan are killed in battle, David is anointed king by the tribe of Judah and eventually all the tribes of Israel. He conquers Jerusalem, makes it the capital of a united Israel, and brings the Ark of the Covenant to the city. He commits adultery with Bathsheba and arranges the death of her husband, Uriah the Hittite. David's son Absalom later tries to overthrow him, but David returns to Jerusalem after Absalom's death to continue his reign. David desires to build a temple to Yahweh, but is denied because of the bloodshed of his reign. He dies at age 70 and chooses Solomon, his son with Bathsheba, as his successor instead of his eldest son Adonijah. David is honored as an ideal king and the forefather of the future Hebrew Messiah in Jewish prophetic literature, and many psalms are attributed to him.
У біблійній розповіді Книг Самуїла Давид описаний як молодий пастух і арфіст, чиє серце віддане Ягве, єдиному правдивому Богу. Він отримує славу і стає героєм, убивши Голіафа. Він стає фаворитом Саула, першого царя Ізраїлю, але змушений ховатися, коли Саул підозрює Давида в змові зайняти його трон. Після того, як Саул і його син Йонатан були вбиті в битві, плем’я Юди, а згодом і всі племена Ізраїля, помазали Давида на царство. Він завойовує Єрусалим, робить його столицею об’єднаного Ізраїлю та приносить до міста Ковчег Завіту. Він вчиняє перелюб із Вірсавією та організовує смерть її чоловіка, хетта Урії. Пізніше син Давида Авесалом намагається повалити його, але після смерті Авесалома Давид повертається до Єрусалиму, щоб продовжити своє правління. Давид хоче побудувати храм Ягве, але йому відмовляють через кровопролиття під час його правління. Він помирає у віці 70 років і обирає Соломона, свого сина з Вірсавією, своїм наступником замість свого старшого сина Адонії. У єврейській пророчій літературі Давида вшановують як ідеального царя та праотця майбутнього єврейського Месії, йому приписують багато псалмів.
Excerpt from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Wijngaerde_(Begijnhof_Brugge):
The Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaerde (Dutch: Prinselijk Begijnhof Ten Wijngaerde) is the only preserved beguinage in the Belgian city of Bruges. There are no more Beguines living there, but since 1927 it has functioned as a convent for Benedictines, founded by canon Hoornaert. In the same year the houses at the west side were also reshaped and enlarged into the Monasterium De Wijngaard, a priory of Benedictine nuns.
Already before 1240 a community of pious women settled at the domain 'de Wingarde' (old Dutch for vineyard), in the South of the city. This name probably refers to low-lying meadows. The beguinage was founded around 1244 by Margaret of Constantinople, after she requested permission to Walter van Marvis, bishop of Tournai, to move over the tomb chapel on the Burg of Bruges to the Wijngaard. In 1245 it was recognised as an independent parish. In 1299 it came under direct authority of king Philip the Fair and it was entitled as "Princely Beguinage".
The complex includes a gothic beguinage church and about thirty white painted houses dating from the late 16th, 17th and 18th century. Practically all of these are built around a central yard. The main entrance with gate can be reached via the three-arched stone bridge, the Wijngaard Bridge. In a bay the image of the holy Elizabeth of Hungary can be seen, who was the patron of many beguinages. De Wijngaard is also devoted to Saint Alexius. The entrance gate was built in 1776 by master mason Hendrik Bultynck. The first Beguine house next to the entrance is furnished as a museum and the exhibition includes paintings, 17th and 18th century furniture and lacework, among others. A second gate gives access to the Sas House, via the Sas Bridge.
