Devils Postpile National Monument - lava was at the bottom & middle of a glacier & formed perfect Hexagonal Columns as the basalt lava erupted into the ice. Absolutely amazing. At the very top the tops are glass smooth by touch as a result of the glacier polishing them & in some pictures you can see the markings from the glacier movements on the rock faces. — with Chris Smith at Devils Postpile National Monument.

It's as though Jen's camera was calling to me, reaching out, tempting me....with cheesecake.

Devil's Doorway at Devil's Lake State Park in Wisconsin

The Tower is another of my favourites; it really looks like it is on fire. The Star is gently sparkly and the Devil, while only minimally glittered, is very effective.

This flower has two names - Orange Hawkweed (it's 'proper' name) and Devil's Paintbrush. Since I snapped this while headed to a place called the Devil's Chair, I'm calling it the paintbrush today. :)

Erosion revealed the once hidden Devil's Tower in Wyoming. It rises 1267 feet above the Belle Fourche River in a 1347 acre park covered with pine forests, woodlands, and grasslands. Deer, prairie dogs, and other wildlife are seen.

Also known as Bears Lodge, it is a sacred site for many American Indians.

The Devil's Punch Bowl is a large natural amphitheatre and beauty spot near Hindhead, Surrey, in England, and is the source of many stories about the area. The London to Portsmouth road (the A3) skirted the centre of the site before the long Hindhead Tunnel was built in 2011.

The land is now owned and maintained by the National Trust as part of the "Hindhead Commons and the Devil's Punch Bowl" property. Hindhead Youth Hostel is located inside the bowl. The highest point is Gibbet Hill at 282m AOD.
