This boat has sharp blades that cut the weeds from the bottom of the lake and help to keep the lake clear...the bottom is scraped and the rich dirt from the bottom is collected and used for compost elsewhere
Picture made in iron procesing factory in Szczecin, Poland (building dated for 1896/7, renewed after second warl war). At present it's been used(sic!) as a carbon storage warehouse.

Our gas heater broke yesterday... so now we have no heat and no warm water and the gas guy needed to get some space parts that he couldn't get until on tuesday... so it will be cold so cold here...
I managed to get it 1.5 degrees warmer so far with the candles... (from 14°c to 15.5°c)
This device was a hybrid of a teeter-totter and a merry-go-round and was powered via pedals controlled by one of the two people riding on the contraption. I suppose it was self regulating in that if the operator passed out it would slow down on it's on. It looked like fun but probably required the two riders to be of similar weight, which ruled out me and Frances trying it.
