Google released the audio-only version of Chromecast device today. Basically, you connect this device to your existing audio systems, like speakers and control the operations from your phone. When a company like Google releases products, I have certain expectations about the intended functionality. With this audio cast, it is just confusing. If you still need your phone to play audio and that phone has bluetooth capability, can you not just use that ? Is Google really going after with a cool new product so owners of age old speakers could use it ? What am I missing here ?

As it turns out, the alien listening device does not work in the rain. I'm not sure if this was broken forever or that the antennas just temporarily retracted when it started raining. You would have expected with all that alien technology, it would automatically open up a little umbrella. But perhaps it never rains on the alien world.

The photos were there, the order is transmitted. But there is no record of the order so the waitress still had to count the plates. Due to the use of these devices ones sushi order no longer resonates around the restaurant, resulting in a greatly subdued atmosphere.

"Your positive attitude can be used as a flotation device"

this spells Rare Device among other things. we watched that Scrabble movie last night and there is a Scrabble article in the paper today. one of those days.

These shots are of three juvenile males hanging out in a small bachelor group. They were clearly only recently fledged and left to their own devices. If one scored an insect the others would beg to be fed like chicks, without any positive result! They hung around together and seemed to cooperate to noisily drive through the scrub to drive out insect prey.

The ngirungiru (South Island) or miromiro (North Island) is a forest and shrubland inhabiting species of both native and exotic habitats. It is rarely seen in highly modified open habitats, such as farmland and suburbia. Tomtits have a widespread distribution through the North and South Islands, and occur on some of their offshore islands, Stewart Island, Chatham Islands, Snares Islands and Auckland Islands. Most populations are dimorphic, males being mainly black-and-white, and females mainly brown-and-white. They are often heard giving contact calls or males singing, but are sometimes difficult to see. Individuals can be quite confiding, coming within a few metres.

Adults of both sexes of Snares Island tomtit are black, juveniles being a duller black-brown. In the four other subspecies, adult males have a black head, upper chest and back, black wings with one white bar on each wing across the bases of the flight feathers, a black tail with some white on some outer feathers, and white underparts. In the South, Chatham and Auckland Islands subspecies, males have some yellow and/or orange colouration on the lower chest and belly, being brightest at the sharp demarcation with the black on the upper chest. They have a white spot at the base of the upper mandible which can be enlarged during displays. Juvenile males have duller plumage, and have subtle streaking on head as a result of white shafts of black feathers. Adult female of Auckland Island tomtit is similar in colouration to male but with black areas being duller. Adult females of North, South and Chatham subspecies are brown over the head, back and wings (white/buff wingbar present), and fawn on the upper chest which fades to white on the belly. Juvenile females are similar, but with faint streaking on the head.

While my MacBook Pro can let me access the Internet in a larger number of ways, and my iPhone can allow me to access the Internet in a super portable manner, I will confess to having become enamoured of the iPad for day-to-day access of the Internet. Be it reading blogs, email, twitter streams, or viewing YouTube vids or other online media, the iPad is amazing. It's a very comfortable device to use, while either standing, sitting, or lying down. It (and it's follow-on technologies) will change the way (and the where) we access the 'Net.

Ever sat outside, under a tree, enjoying the summer breezes with a good book? I'm looking forward to that this summer. (Our school year ends tomorrow.)
