Newer development dwarfs the old government quarters that is the main feature of Brickfields

United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) in partnership with Universidad de los Andes (UNIANDES) convenes a three-day conference on reducing inequality, held in Bogotá, Colombia, 5-7 October 2022.

As new research uncovers the many negative impacts that high inequality can have, a consensus is emerging that achieving SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities is a global goal of critical importance.

The programme addresses major themes in inequality across keynote lectures, parallel sessions, and a policy dialogue event. Speakers include leading scholars of inequality, including Raquel Fernández and Francisco H. G. Ferreira. In addition, the VII Colombian Economic Congress forms part of the programme.

This flyer was limited by the lack of actual images - the client was cracking a new market and only had conceptual 3D renderings to work with - but the focus on 'making your dreams come true' makes the conceptual images work for the design. Part of a range of items developed for this new market push.

In the second development page, I shown the ideas of embroidery, knits, more detailed analysis of the garment and detailed sketches which were made into finals designs. I add some bright colours like blue and red to show continuation between other pages.

I also dyed and made an embroidery by hand on linen piece of fabric where I also glued wooden matches which gave a structure for linen. The wooden matches became the structure of the weather vane and empty areas were embroidered by hand.

Inevitably, some of the locals oppose the more modern developments.
