The Rose Namayanja Foundation in partnership with Uganda’s Development Community Caring Friends (UDCCF), yesterday donated an assortment of essential items to students in Kapeeka Sub-county, Nakaseke District.
While handing over the donation, Rev Fr Emmanuel Mbalire, the UDCCF Executive Director, said that the donation was aimed at enabling students concentrate on their studies by no longer worrying about the lack of basic scholastic materials.
“Students always spend a lot of valuable time worrying about the things they lack in schools. We decided to partner with the Rose Namayanja Foundation in order to extend a helping hand to the under privileged students for them to reach their full academic potential,” Rev Fr Mbalire said.
The items that included scholastic materials, sanitary pads, clothes, shoes among others, were handed over to the beneficiary schools of Standard High School Kapeeka, Kapeeka Senior Secondary School and Kapeeka Primary School in Nakaseke District.

Looking down into San Timeteo Canyon, near Redlands. I was surprised by the number of active orange groves in the canyon, below the very expensive homes on the ridges. BUT... of course, the orange groves in the canyon to the right of where I was standing were unmaintained, and some further on had been removed to become a housing development.

At the Community Activity Center on Camp Casey May 29, civilians and Soldiers of the U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I attend a professional development session geared especially to those in leadership positions. The audience of 145 leaders heard briefings on a range of topics that included customer service, mentoring subordinates, administrative and maintenance matters, and leadership itself. Speakers included Col. John M. Scott, Commander, USAG Red Cloud and Area I, and other garrison officials. The afternoon was capped by an indoor supper of hot dogs and hamburgers.
Agribusiness Development Activity is aimed at the transformation from ineffective subsistence farming to commercial, profitable agribusiness through the disbursement of matching grants and the provision of technical and market information assistance. Grants are awarded through competition on the co-financing basis for the development of small value-adding enterprises, farm service centers, value chain and primary production in any region of Georgia. The project will help develop agribusiness and create new job opportunities.

A historic office building in Downtown San Jose is the home to entrepreneurs and startups affiliated with the Environmental Business Cluster (EBC), the US Market Access Center (USMAC), and the Entrepreneur Center (eCenter). Space is available for environmental and international start-ups looking for unique office space, and business and financial services and assistance. This program of space and services is offered under a 15-year long partnership between the San Jose Redevelopment Agency, the San Jose State University Research Foundation, and the Humboldt State University Sponsored Programs Foundation.
The Agency has invested more than $20 million in these programs to support the growth of new software, clean tech and emerging technology companies, as well as international businesses looking to expand in the U.S. Along with the incubator and business service programs at the San Jose Innovation Center, the Agency’s investment also includes the San Jose BioCenter, which is located in the Edenvale Technology Park, South San Jose. These programs have been very effective in helping small businesses grow by generating over 2,600 jobs and enabling companies affiliated with the programs to raise $1.6 billion in capital equity financing.
