About some things, I feel so lucky to be a testimony.

Finally, many Brazilian Indigenous People from different groups

are discovering the photography and having access to cameras.

Finally they will be able to be the

protagonists of their own history.

Here a Wapishana men shows their own picture to a Kuikuru man.

We just need care that economic and social development can't be obtained at any price, specially the fragile Amazon.

Yesterday was rainy, oh god IT WAS RAINY. This made me think of something to shoot and I think most of you will know that, I had no idea.

You cannot force ideas to come but you have to wait for the inspiration.

That's what I realized.

So after I tryied thousand things and nothing worked, I was on the point of stopping shooting for that day. But then I read through the german flickr blog and the most recent article was "strawberry time". I remembered that I had seen a strawberry bush in our garden and so I knew what to do.

I love to try around with techniques that are new to me and this world of lighting and to set a light in a way that it draws attention to a special point may be interesting but I have never tried it though.

Just for those who are interested: I havent got a speedlight so I used a construction lamp with 500W from a slightly higher poition on the right.

LG Development’s HUGO masterplan includes the construction of mid-rise buildings at 751 N. Hudson Ave. and 411 W. Chicago Av. The two mixed-use structures will each stand 9 stories and will collectively house roughly 19,000 square feet of retail and 227 apartment units. The 751 N Hudson Avenue building will accommodate 134 residences; 411 W Chicago Avenue will house the remaining 93 units. Completion is scheduled for third-quarter 2023.

The two buildings replace parking lots and will be narrowly separated by 415 W. Chicago Ave, a masonry 1930 low-rise building. The seemingly vacant building is reminiscent of the building containing a cleaner (who owns it) and Bella Luna that remains at the south end of the One Chicago development because the woman refused to sell.

From a little while back, the field that is under consderation for development for housing.. we all need a little space.

This one is totally as the camera saw it, not really any processing here.

Hope your doing great!

Thanks for looking,

The new Wedge development in Harris Green. I really love the design of this new building. It's just way to short for the design in my opinion. If it would have been another 10 stories it would have been a signature building downtown. I hope everyone has a great weekend. 😃

It's midnight right now so I'll catch up on everyone's photos tomorrow. :-)

Excerpt from the Toronto Star Aug. 4, 2007....not sure if it was corrected, there is some graffiti on the inside I see.

'I think it's a disgrace that Toronto leaves such a beautiful and unique piece of outdoor art to rot and decay. As the author of a number of books celebrating the many wonderful things that make this country unique, it both saddens and disturbs me to think that this is how the city treats the outdoor art pieces it commissions and the amazing disrespect with which it holds the artists who create them.

The piece referenced in the article is called Sundial Folly and was unveiled in 1995. It was the first project by two talented and enterprising architecture grads fresh out of the University of Waterloo: my partner, Paul de Figueiredo, and Jonathan Fung. Their winning design beat out 144 other proposals, some of them from very well-known and established artists.

Not only is Sundial Folly a place for wedding photos and a rare quiet spot in the city, it's also a unique meeting place and point of reference. It has become a unique landmark in the vast sea of blah condo development that has stolen the waterfront from its residents.

I urge Mayor David Miller, city council and city staff, as well as all residents, to do something about this wanton neglect.

Western Australia's new Museum, almost complete at this date, is built around and above the old 1913 State Library, which will now be part of the museum.

Wooden stairs that lead from the main walkway through Aberdeen Harbour and Footdee down to the beautiful sands of Fittie Beach, I use them every time I visit to access and leave the beach , today the light caressed them and gave me the opportunity to capture them with my Nikon.

Footdee is an area of Aberdeen, Scotland known locally as "Fittie". It is an old fishing village at the east end of the harbour. The name is actually folk etymology. Far from being "Foot of the Dee/Fit o the Dee", it is actually a corruption of a former dedication to a "St Fothan".

The area has had a settlement as far back as the Medieval times and the first recorded reference to the area of Fittie was in the year 1398. This village was slightly further North than where Footdee is now located. It would have been near to where the St Clement's Church is located.

Footdee is a particularly interesting example of a planned housing development purpose-built to re-house Aberdeen's local fishing community. Laid out in 1809 by John Smith, then Superintendent Of The Town's Public Works. Smith went on to establish himself as one of Aberdeen's key architects. Occupying an isolated spit of land to the SE of Aberdeen's city centre, its regimented squares have been described as a cross between the neo-classical aspirations of Aberdeen and the close-knit fishing communities of the north-east.

The two squares of 'Fish Town' (known as Footdee), originally contained 28 single-storey thatched houses although this increased when the later Middle Row (circa 1837) and Pilot Square (circa 1855) were added. The entrances on each of the North and South squares were filled in the 1870s by William Smith (son of John and architect of Balmoral Castle). He also added additional storeys to the East and West sides of South Square creating a tenement feel. This was an attempt to ease crowding resulting from an influx of fishing families from other less prosperous areas and to help try to enforce the 'one-house-one-family' rule.

The Town Council decided to start selling the dwellings to occupiers in 1880, beginning a period of incremental development and reconstruction. Additional storeys and dormers were added piecemeal by the new owners as funds allowed. The result is one of individuality expressed within the constraints of a strictly formal plan and is a contributing factor to the special architectural and historical interest of Footdee as a whole.

Throughout the 19th century, 'tarry sheds' were added to the communal land within the squares opposite each dwelling and now every dwelling has its own shed. Originally constructed from drift wood and other found materials, the sheds have been built and rebuilt in an idiosyncratic manner over the years in a variety of materials with rendered brick now predominating slightly (2006). Some timber built sheds remain, predominantly on the North side of North Square.

North Square Mission Hall occupies the central area of the North Square, reflecting its significance as an integral part of village life. The building is plain, with simple detailing throughout, and as such, responds sympathetically to its setting and context. Known locally as 'the schoolie' the hall was built for general as well as religious purposes and continues to operate as a multi-purpose meeting space.

The entire Footdee village was added to the statutory list in 1967 as a single entity. The village was subsequently given Conservation Area status in 1968. At resurvey in 2006, each building within the Conservation Area was re-assessed separately. Key examples, demonstrating both individual architectural interest and representing the history and development of the village as a whole, were selected for listing.

On an 1828 map, the new housing squares were specifically labelled 'Fish Town'. 'Footdee' referred to the larger area from St. Clement's Church to 'Fish Town'. Later, the name 'Footdee' was erroneously used to refer specifically to the housing squares, with 'Fish Town' becoming forgotten.

On Tuesday 25 September 2012, Footdee became covered in foam from the sea after experiencing strong wind and rain conditions. The effect was like a blanket of snow and this made the UK national news.

Sorry I haven't been busy on Flickr over the last few months, aside from the occasional update or PMC entries.

However over the coming months. I will try to get back to popping by a range of other galleries.

But currently overtime is more important over everything else. So while such a thing, will result in less shots, favourites and comments from me.

In the end, I haven't forgotten about you and Flickr.
