Speakers included Col. John M. Scott, Commander, USAG Red Cloud and Area I, and other garrison officials. The afternoon was capped by an indoor supper of hot dogs and hamburgers.

REDCAR'S first artist in residence is in post and set to record the continued development of the seaside town.
Renowned photographer, Ian Macdonald, has been appointed by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council for the year-long project.
The 66-year-old, whose work has been exhibited around the world, will have a studio in the Redcar Beacon, where some of his photographs will be on display.

"Cardiff Council, in partnership with the Welsh Assembly Government, will be implementing street improvements to Clifton Street starting on Sunday 12th October 2008 for a period of approximately eight months.
The improvements include a range of measures to create a more attractive and pedestrian-friendly shopping centre, including the introduction of a one way system in a north to south direction, two sided 'limited waiting' street parking, disabled parking bays, new street lighting, traffic calming measures, a controlled pedestrian crossing, replacement street furniture and the installation of three CCTV cameras. He’ll be showing some of his work for just one week at Kooki Two Bit, a new clothes shop in Clifton Street, Splott. Clifton Street seems to be the new hip place in Cardiff - check the AMAZING ‘Canteen’ restaurant which has recently opened there. Without doubt the greatest sticky toffee pudding I have ever eaten."
