Prospective residents, friends, staff and partners gathered at the site of Bournville Gardens on 23rd April 2014 to lay the foundation stone.
Team members from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District, talked to students at SUNY Buffalo State College during a networking event, as part of Hispanic Heritage month, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012.
A few of the topics covered were, about the Corps, job searching, interview techniques, perfecting your elevator speech and a resume critique.

Sonnenallee/Sun Avenue (Aspern), named after the German feature film "Sonnenallee" by Leander Haußmann from 1999. The comedy focuses on the life of East Berlin youths in the face of the Berlin Wall in the 1970s and is based on the novel "At the shorter end of Sonnenallee" by Thomas Brussig. The title of the film refers to the Sonnenallee of the same name in Berlin. In Lakeside City of Aspern which is currently under construction the still in project stage ring-shaped main traffic connection of the city development area for the time being internally is called Ring Road. Why the alley was named after a German film respectively a Berlin street, is not known.

Although these building were only recently completed, to me they have something of the old Eastern Bloc about them, making them an appropriate subject for the camera made in the GDR.

Tarmac (this road over the hill used to be a dust track in 2014), electricity (green building in background providing town centre - just not today though) and water (pipes are being digged into ground as I'm watching). All on one corner in Kigoma. People want development, maendeleo, a word commonly used when I ask - broadly - what people want politics to lead to.
I'm also reminded though that development takes time. Like today where I consulted the personal assistant to the MP of Kigoma Urban in his office. I need his help to identify municipality members (councillors) for me to interview. (This part is in fact lovely easy and non-bureaucratic. The research permit I was nervous of not getting, the one I paid 350$ for out of my own pocket, no one cares to see it.)
As we go through the list, mentioning the councillors elected via elections, reaching to special seats, it's all men. I haven't spoken to one woman yet (in terms of my field study), and I just felt a dash of panic. I'm exhausted listening to (men's) explanations of why there's so few women in the political public sphere. I have to pull myself together, try not to get irritated.
Till someone (a man) reminds me that there actually was a female presidential candidate (Anna Mghwira) running during 2015 elections. 'Have i considered the potential impact of that?!'
