This is an experiment combining p-Aminophenol(ates) and Ascorbates (Vit C).
All the experiments are done on PolypanF.
The intention was to use less VitC than the usual formulae.
(reason : Rodinal/R09 1+100 only contains something like 0.6 g/L pAp developer, why use
several grams of VitC, with a high risk of fog and not so fine grain.)
(All the next amounts/weights are for a 250cc developer.)
I used 0.5 g VitC in combination with R09 1+100 1+200 1+250 and 1+500 -- I also used it in
combination with 4, 6 and 9 g instant coffee. (the pictures at the Ursel Castle are made
with the 9g.
I call these developers VitRo 100 .. 500 and VitCa 4,6 or 9.
It has to be noticed (visible with the Rodinal combination) there is no single trace of
oxidation (against the air - the reduction of silver salts works as normal, even stronger).
(Agfa claimed the darkening of the Rodinal during development is a result of the anti-halo
layer, this is only partly correct (simply because films without this layer also show this
result).
The VitRo developers contain :
3 g Soda (deca) .. Na2CO3.10H20 (= 106 + 10x18 g/mol - to calculate the mono etc..)
(this is needed to neutralize the H's from the Ascorbic acid, otherwise it will
take the OH's from the Rodinal/R09 and turn the developer ineffective).
0.5g VitC
2.5 - 2 - 1.25 - 1 cc R09
2.5cc of a 2.5% solution of Borax. (finer, rounder grain)
Example above is made with the VitRo 250.
Developing times : (PolypanF)
VitRo 100 12' 80iso
VitRo 200 20' 64iso
VirRo 250 25' 100-125iso (example above)
* VitRo 500 40' 64iso
(*) to be calculated : enough developer for the silversalts on the film ???
-----------------------
The VitCa is trickier, because the acidity of the coffee.
I start with 4g Soda (deca) and add 0.5 g / g instant coffee.
VitCa 60 = 7g Soda (deca)
VitCa 90 = 8.5 g Soda (deca)
After the water, the soda, the VitC (0.5g) I add 1cc 0.1% solution of KI (Potassium Iodide)
The VitCa 60 shows less contrast than the 90, perfect for portrait ...
Developing times between 50' and 60' push the PPF about 2x in the 90.
The 60 after one hour seems to reach 64iso (but I only tested with studio light, outside light
needs to be tested).
But should make excellent developers, with fine grain and great tonality and the ability
to push the film without burned-out highlights several stops.

At the Snaptic Developer Conference I took tons of people shots but this one of Wired's Brian Chen's funky sneakers was my favorite one. Day 147. May 27, 2010.
The developer for the legendary Kodak Technical Pan film. I found this packet (or rather, a whole box of them) about to be thrown away at a camera store.
Darwin CBD, Northern Territory, Australia.
A typical Darwin scene, where developers hold sway.
Some roads may be wholly or partially blocked for days or weeks.
An interesting side issue with exponential development is the almost parasitic growth of the traffic control industry, largely staffed by overseas backpackers (mainly well educated Irish female 20-somethings) who can earn 6 figure salaries.

Get more details about ColdFusion here: www.cfDevshop.com/ To build a dynamic site in this present world is simple yet to keep up it is a bit hard job. An expert and master Coldfusion designer will make the assignment easier however it is not so easy to find an expert but they are real sagas in technology. Hiring a ColdFusion Developer to get highly effective web applications is a vibrant and successful thought.
The first test using R09 developer. Not too bad. However I think considerably more testing is required.
Note the glass. As do the rings on a tree tell a story so do the rings on a glass. A.D.D? No problem. 14 channels, no waiting.

4x5 Fujifilm Acros rated at 50. Developed in Foma R09 1:80 for 10.5 min at 70 deg (F) in a Jobo.
Thanks for the invaluable information Delio. I have to say it was a bit unnerving but the results look very promising.

This time I did ID-11 weaker diluted in Rodinal 1- something ;o). I think I like this combination. It leaves an even developed scan across the board. It is like split grade printing before I hit the darkroom. :o)
