We desperately need some rain! This windmill is out of commission and soon will be replaced by a submergible pump. Windmills are becoming fewer and fewer all the time.

Roofs of houses are covered with a white snow blanket. It's beautiful and safe at the same time. When these snow blocks fall on the head of passers-by, this is life-threatening. Before the city authorities is a big task to clear roofs from snow. Do this real, bold men. This profession is industrial mountaineering. They risk their lives every day for the lives of others. Honor them and praise!

These are crocuses that we planted in our garden a few years ago . They need sunshine soon otherwise they will die off .
Lewis and Harris. Mangersta Rock Stacks, which I was desperate to return to. Pity tho, it was so windy and squally, showery, it was only possible to take mobile phone snaps. The stormy weather certainly made for dramatic seas. This is one angle, but tho you can walk out onto the point, had to return and do that another day, as the winds were so fierce, it wouldn't have been safe.
..in large parts of Namibia where there were no significant rainfalls since 2012! Lucky those who live by a river that still carries water!
A lot of governments pursuing lots of people lately.

Seine Schultasche lag mehrere Meter entfernt, und er spielte traurig mit der Packung Taschentücher (Spielzeug Auto Ersatz), unbeeindruckt von den vorbeigehenden Menschen. Man konnte ihm anmerken, dass es ihm weder gut geht, noch dass er nachhause wollte...
Es hat wohl keinen Sinn für ihn gemacht nachhause zu gehen. Natürlich fragte ich ihn, ob alles okay ist... Aber warum soll er sich einem wildfremden Menschen anvertrauen.
His school bag was several metres away and he was sadly playing with the packet of tissues (toy car replacement), unimpressed by the people walking past. You could tell that he was neither feeling well nor that he wanted to go home...
It probably made no sense for him to go home. Of course I asked him if everything was OK... But why should he confide in a complete stranger?
Son cartable se trouvait à plusieurs mètres et il jouait tristement avec le paquet de mouchoirs en papier (remplacement de la voiture jouet), sans se laisser impressionner par les gens qui passaient devant lui. On voyait bien qu'il ne se sentait pas bien et qu'il n'avait pas envie de rentrer chez lui...
Cela n'avait probablement aucun sens pour lui de rentrer chez lui. Bien sûr, je lui ai demandé si tout allait bien... Mais pourquoi se confier à un parfait inconnu ?

A variation on a theme those of you that know my stream will have seen an image entitled Dark, i have always thought this could be improved on.
This is i hope a better version i was out in Westwood's again this morning and conditions could have been better but i managed to get some shots that are worth posting I will post more in the week. Alfie is desperate for a walk so got this done a bit quick i hope you enjoy

Desperate Dan is a wild west character in the now-defunct Scottish comic magazine The Dandy. He made his appearance in the first issue which was dated 4 December 1937 and became the magazine's mascot. He is apparently the world's strongest man, able to lift a cow with one hand. The pillow of his (reinforced) bed is filled with building rubble and his beard is so tough he shaves with a blowtorch.
The character was created by Dudley D. Watkins, originally as an outlaw or ‘desperado’ (hence his name), but evolved into a more sympathetic type, using his strength to help the underdog. After Watkins’ death in 1969, the cartoons were drawn by many other artists, principally Ken H. Harrison, though the Watkins canon was often recycled. When the Dandy became digital-only in 2012, the Desperate Dan strips were drawn by David Parkins.
There is a statue of Dan in Dundee, Scotland, where his publishers, D. C. Thomson & Co. are based.

I have photographed this old man selling flowers many times. Christmas is supposed to be the peak season for selling flowers. This Christmas, however, the Covid-19 tsunami occurred due to the Chinese government suddenly dropping all restrictions without any preparation. People, including young people who are keen on Christmas, are now afraid to go out or have parties. For this flower seller, it will be a desperate Christmas.
...greylag goose taking off on the magic morning at Whitlingham a couple of weeks ago. I pretty desperate for fog, frost or snow but I'm hoping to make it to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve this week in any case,. Its the only time of year when the reserve is open to the public during sunset, so I'm hoping to catch some lovely birds flying though the golden hour :)
Of course I'll also be at CatChums to celebrate with all the loving festive kits...quite probably on Christmas Day itself!
