Susie Lake, (elev. 7,800 feet) viewed from our campsite. Shawn and I swam in this lake early the next morning, and it was something beyond shockingly cold. (This felt terrifying for several minutes, after which it felt fantastic.)

8-10-06, Thursday early evening, taken while setting up our first night's camp.

The Desolation Wilderness is just west of lake Tahoe. It was some of the most beautiful scenery i have ever seen. The terrain is quite uneven through out most of the trail.

Coverage looks great in Desolation. Looking forward to a multi-day to go ski Pyramid (the one that looks like a pyramid), and Cracked Crag (foreground)

I can't remember where I was when I took this photograph. I just remember that I couldn't believe how desolate it looked, while still providing interesting structure.
