Desolation Lake from the North, Wasatch Mountains, Utah. Why anyone would call this turquoise gem desolate is beyond me. This lake has no outlet, and only snow melt for an inlet, so its depth varies greatly from year to year and season to season. It has no fish, but lots of big Tiger Salamander live in it. Near high mark because of the deep snow pack this year.

Their were a few beached fishing boats on the beach at Bulverhythe. This stretch of coast is very bare, windswept and barren as can be seen from these photos. It's very desolate, especially at this time of year!
Only very early in the morning, one can catch these awkward moments of solitude in Prague. Very beautiful.
