San Felipe Trip
to reach San Felipe from Mexicali, its about 2 hours driving over a desert.. if i could describe it with one word.. desolate would be it
Desolation? Lord! Desolation is a railroad station 'round about 2am on a week night. When you walk into Desolation like that and suddenly, out of nowhere comes a warm song - You aren't about to forget it!
Not actually a railroad station at 2am on a weeknight, this is the plaza outside Bishops See round 12 noon on a Sunday. Mind you, I imagine it'd be pretty desolate regardless of time or date.

Detroit Lake is one of the man made lakes used for flood control of the Willamette River. Each fall they draw it down to receive the runoff from the Cascade's snowfall exposing these tree trunks. I like the desolate look of this vantage point and thought it looked better in this cyanotype preset.

The clouds are moving around, but they did not come to terminate the dry and end the scenario of desolation, in addition to all, the signs of human pollution load the the already sad image.

Last week Desolation Row aka mscrant1971 meet for a little photo trip around the Florida/Georgia border. We an excellent time and will meet up again for a longer day of photography and maybe some beers.

This is off of my second roll (of 120 that I have ever shot) through my new Bronica. My husband, my best friend, my muse, and the love of my life decided that he would purchase me "veronica" for Christmas. I am ecstatic to have a new focus for my life. Luckiest girl EVER!
