These pair of Eastern Great Egrets look so majestic and deserving some special PS magic.

It was an great night for aurora...

No World for Tomorrow is one of my favourite Coheed and Cambria songs... I feel tonight's show is deserving of the title...

"Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?"

I never wait... I go out into the night and see what happens haha. This was a few hours ago... Quarry Lake in Canmore Alberta.

I thought it only fair to give the humble neighborhood duck a post - they are equally deserving as regal Egrets. (And very guiltily I must admit, tasty with Hoisin)

The day I was sure I would shot in the Sahara desert, I started to hope in something really impossible, like some clouds on the horizon over the dunes. Usually deserts are dry zones and clouds are unfrequent and rare, but hope is free. Can you imagine my surprise when I saw this scene in front of me? The sun was hiding behind a bank of clouds! In the Sahara desert! Its rays like spears to the sky, I was stunned from so much majesty, and I was afraid, totally scared to not being able to capture that moment I dreamed so long in the way it was deserving. Did I? shared with pixbuf.com

you say you got the most respect for me..

But sometimes i feel you’re not deserving of me ..

and still you’re in my hart ,,

But you’re the only one ,,

Deserving of our admiration!

Welcome to the beautiful city of Uzerche under the sun, pearl of Corrèze - New Aquitaine - France - Europe

Histoire d'Uzerche

-------------------------------

History of Uzerche

Uzerche, nicknamed the "Pearl of Limousin", is located on the crest of a rocky escarpment surrounded by a tight curve of the Vézère.

The first, the Gauls, settled on this rocky peak.

Caesar, after having conquered Gaul, chose to leave some garrisons in the region, with the mission, in Uzarcba, to monitor the passages of the Vézère.

The site occupied a strategic position. It overlooked the Sainte-Eulalie pass where there was an important ancient road junction, of pre-Roman origin. One of the roads joined Armorica to the Mediterranean Basin, another made it possible to ford the Vézère.

Very early on, this pass was equipped with a place of worship dedicated to a 3rd century Spanish martyr, Sainte-Eulalie de Mérida.

In 480, the Visigoths pillaged and destroyed Uzerche.

Pépin le Bref, aware of the interest of the site, had a fortress and a church built, protected by a high wall flanked by eighteen towers.

The city is equipped with gates, including the Porte Bécharie which still remains. Thirty years after their defeat at Poitiers (732), the Saracens invade Limousin a second time.

For seven years the city resisted their assaults and freed itself from the siege by a clever stratagem. A coat of arms symbolizing (according to legend) this victory is carved on the Porte Bécharie.

In 909, the Normans sacked the city.

In the 10th century, the Carolingians decided to found a monastery there under the leadership of Father Gaubert. A fire in 1028 put an end to the prosperity of the community.

The 12th century was a prosperous period, the great of this world crossed the city and stopped at the monastery: Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine, their son, Richard the Lionheart.

The city resisted several sieges, including that of the English, thus deserving the nickname of Uzerche-La-Pucelle, the one that was never taken.

From the 14th century, its development justifies the adage "Who has a house in Uzerche has a castle in Limousin". The nobility of the robe built hotels and fortified houses until the 16th century.

In 1575, the Vicomte de Turenne, at the head of the Huguenots, sacked the abbey.

The power of its abbey and the creation of a royal senechaussee made it a capital of Bas-Limousin.

Between mossy rocks, a small creek is meandering through a beech forest in The Valley Rabenauer Grund in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Its located quite unremarkable besides the main trails and I think it’s not going to be noticed so often. For me this place was one of the highlights on my visit here, because its radiating so much peace and quietness. Those who know me a while know, that I'm always searching for places like this. The underdogs in the landscapes. To give them the attention they are deserving.

The Milky Way and the Constellation Scorpius rise over an Undisclosed Location.

Elitist or Entitled? which am I? I’m not sure where I fall…Hum let me see what the dictionary says:

Entitled- Definition….believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.

"his pompous, entitled attitude"

Elitist- Definition……..demonstrating a superior attitude or behavior associated with an elite.

"some that say he is a spoiled, elitist snob"

Neither sounds like a camp that I’d want to be in.

The motives for withholding locations are far ranging from “save the location”, to “save the animals” to “save the unprepared from themselves” undisclosed locations…….secret places, are we elitists or are we entitled? Those that cherish the outdoors have seen the ramifications of location over saturation, and they “are” concerned. Of course, it’s because these are the most beautiful places on Earth and they would like to see that future generations can enjoy them as well. Doesn’t sound bad to me? The problem than lies within the human spirit, the spirit to set out and seek what’s out there, to see and feel and smell it with our own senses and take in the scene in all it’s natural glory. If your an inhabitant of this planet than it’s you’re right to see it, of course it is!! The real problem is the person that just purchased a camera and has never been outside the city in his or her life, do i want to give out a location that I shot in the backcountry of the Grand Tetons? If I want to eliminate them than Yes, they would be grizzly scat by morning. But If I’m concerned for their safety or the preservation of the location than NO. How am I to decide who gets a location or not, by deciding am I than elitist? Man and his devices have traveled into the far reaches of this galaxy and beyond and found no solid evidence of life, and the fact that we have been on this planet for just the blink of an eye makes me think that this planet is a gift more than it is a privilege.

IMHO, This planet belongs to every human being but it is a gift and not a privilege!!! does that makes me elitist or just concerned? If you have no outdoor experience than please prepare yourself to see it safely and responsibly. :-)

We have exhausted this ideology on social media, we make memes about it and we even take pics promoting it and pop them on our Flickr pages! We're all talking about being kind but are we really being the kind of people who practice it? It is our actions that matter, kindness is measured in the way we treat others. Not when we feel like it, when it suits us or when we think the person is deserving. We are all faced everyday with choices in how we interact with others, those choices impact others in ways way beyond our comprehension which is why kindness should be the default in how we treat others in every situation, even when no one is watching.

Be the kind of person who heals not harms 💛💛

Happy Early Caturday & Happy Weekend!!

Very grateful for your visits - be well!

Not long ago, I told You about my exhausting ascent near Neuschwanstein Castle in bavaria. This shot was the reason for all the effort. To get it, I had to be up here, before the sun was hiding totally behind the mountains. Besides that I had to find a composition I like, because I've never been here on that spot before.

Fifteen minutes at the max before my timewindow did close, I spotted this deeply interesting guard of The valley I instantly fell in love with. He is not looking fresh as dew anymore. I guess, he fought some battles already.

So I let him play the main role in my piece, he's deserving that. And the famous castle has to be content with the second fiddle.

Minntac loads roll into Highland for a meet. The Dash 8's don't get as much love as the EMD's on the Missabe Sub, but are well deserving. I assume the future is pretty bleak for them when the AC's start showing up.

He states that after such a horrible medical experience he is deserving of some fudge, and if same fudge is provided, would be willing at least to pose with the bag.

We have reached an agreement...

I did not see the other little froglet to the left at the back until after I put my pictures on my laptop. That's how small they are! Do you think there looks like a shark's head with the lily pads and the rose petal as the lower jaw and the little froglets as his eye and nose! These little froglets must be very careful !!!!! I think they are deserving of a poem. Look how he still has a little tail : 0)) Oh, I already know it is not the bestest picture in the world, but it is cute, right, and lightens the mood, which is what we all need right now!

: 0) Happy Weekend everyone! <3

For a moment I was worried

the smallest hoverfly swung by

and on the lily pad was sitting

the tiniest froglet smaller than the fly

could he be Le Petit Prince

if I kissed him would he transform

from frog to Prince and tall in stature

safe from the fly and free from harm

he sat so still I wanted to poke him

I saw a stick nearby

but he was so cute and perfect sat there

I was afraid that I would make him cry

so I took a photo to see more detail

and noticed that he has a few bumps

could it be that he is a toad

or a tiny frog who has the mumps

I do not know enough about them

I assumed that once they absorbed their tails

they would blow up to life size frogs

not so small you could fit twenty inside a snail

what do they eat now they are no longer tadpoles

I have been feeding them goldfish food

I half expected them to turn into goldfish

you are what you eat and it affects your mood

alternate days I fed them tropical fish food

but they preferred the goldfish one

some of my cats tried to lap it from the water

attracted to the smell and having fun

one cat scratched a nearby log

and out of the corner of my eye I saw a lot of things spring

into the water with barely a splash

myriads of froglets or toads or somethings

nature is a big learning curve

it teaches us things we might never know

and also I learn about myself

I learn patience and compassion and wish on a rainbow

I wish I wish with all my might

that the little frogs will stay with me

that they will not look beyond the walls

that they will choose here to raise their families.

During this trip we spent one week in Rome and another 10 days wandering Tuscany it made driving sense for us to start with Massa Marittima a lesser traveled southern Tuscan town that ticked all the boxes for our first visit in Tuscany. There have been people settled here since the 9th century BC, Etruscan’s were the first on the scene attracted by the mineral springs and metals discovered close to the surface they began mining extraction operations that didn’t stop until the last mines closed in 1994. While the town never saw much prominence from the ruling factions of history it did quietly prosper most centuries accumulating beautiful public and religious works that are well preserved today and deserving of stop on our “Grand Tour”.

After a fairly severe pruning, the bougainvillea has come back nicely in time for Christmas. It even boasts two baubles, one of which is out of sight !! Deserving of more decorations, but I'd run out by then.

Happy Christmas one and all.

This covered bridge in Quebec is one of the longest in Canada. Since it was built in 1898 it was quite deserving of a recent upgrade.

On days where the early morning sun doesn't disappoint you get to see all of the iridescent glory of the Glossy Ibis that is so deserving of its name.

Black is the absence of colour.

Black is not a colour.

White is the blending of all colours.

White is a colour.

Between black and white resides a spectrum of colours,

A rainbow of possibility,

Of appropriateness,

And choice.

Choosing black and white, or rather choosing either black or white, comes with risk.

If we choose black – are we choosing nothing?

Are we saying no, to possibility?

If we choose white –are we choosing everything?

Yet, in choosing everything,

Do we not also stand for nothing?

On the flip side – we want things to be black and white.

Johnny – don’t touch the hot stove.

Sabina – will you marry me?

Jose – go talk to that asshole letting his pit bull run amok in the park.

It’s black and white.

Full stop.

Conflict is rarely a world of black and white.

Rather, conflict lives in the spaces, the colours, between,

Black and white.

Between black and white is your story, your imagination.

The black and white photograph draws its’ power from your imagination, in all its’ color.

Between black and white, truth is

Held up to our biases, and logical fallacies.

Between black and white is acceptance,

That each of us is unique, our own shade of human, deserving of respect and attention.

The black and white road is a colourful one.

Embrace the journey.

McArthur Island Park

I was reminded of the Robert Frost poem as I did a bit of processing on this image. I'm not sure why because the poem is about a snowy evening! Anyway, these woods are surely deserving of a poem too.

I've been trying to get a decent picture of the deer ever since I heard that about 8 of them were wintering in the park about a week and a half ago. Finally, success! I wish I could have gotten in just a bit closer (or had a better telephoto lens) but this will do very nicely for now. :-)

Almost so perfect

The way that I want you

I'm almost deserving when I get close to you

I disappear

Lost in the waves

I go under, under

I am an island

You are the ocean

You're so close we're touching, completely surrounded

But I cannot have you the way that I want to

'Cause I am an island you are the ocean

No, I cannot have you, I cannot have you without drowning

I see you out there

I'm lost in the blue

I'm part of the world but I cannot have you

'Cause I am deserted and you are too deep

I cannot love you without losing me

www.youtube.com/watch?v=f41dgqET2uY

I'd be lying if I said I never really cared how

I step out the bed

You notice my perfume and tell me I'm perfect

Ooh, you're so deserving

Baby, you're worth it

I could tell I'm your focus

I'm all on your mind and I know it

Even when I'm off, boy, you on it

Sometimes you might talk but you show me

Love the way you pay attention

From a U.S. government pamphlet -- "The Lakota people were the first to call this place "mako sica" or "land bad." Extreme temperatures, lack of water, and the exposed rugged terrain led to this name. In the early 1900's, French-Canadian fur trappers called it "les mauvais terres pour traverse," or "bad lands to travel through."

The Badlands are looking very green here and not quite so deserving of their name. However, I am betting that in a month or so there will be little trace of green.

From the archives and taken on 10 July, 2020 this was my first ever encounter with a Cotton Mouth / Eastern Water Moccasin. Taken in the Alligator River NWR in North Carolina and edited yesterday.

When I noticed the small piece of wood on its back, my first thought was the timeless “I double dog dare you to knock this off my shoulder” challenge of days gone by.

I guess that would be his shoulder…anyway he certainly was in a challenging mood! Some might think he deserved to die based on being a snake, being poisonous and being mad. I felt blessed to see and photograph him. I then carefully closed the gap between us to speed up his crossing of the road.

The harbour at Seacliff beach looking to Tantallon Castle. A really nice area of coast.

A place deserving of a good sunrise.

Though the Hattie Bumgarner house is my usual feature in this scene, I thought it important to settle upon the bunchgrass. I had shot it wider before, with both the house and the bunch in something akin to focus, but this deserving plant needed more than a detail in the foreground.

Here, the house haunts the field as the grass drifts away.

My wish for you on your special day

I wish you feel love…

As the Sun rises in the morning and stayed by your side till the moon takes over..

I wish you feel love…

When the clouds get cloudy while the rain rushes down to calm your tears and fears..

I wish you feel love..

As night wraps you in his warm embrace while the moon watch over you as you sleep, keeping you safe..

I wish you feel love…

Every moment of every day of your life..

In the same way the sea gently embrace the shore

The way the breeze gently yet playfully messes your hair..

And even on days when it gets a little harder to feel it..

I wish you still feel love..

because love is in you, love is you..

In the special way you shower precious love to others, you are deserving of the same and more..

Love you, my Bina♥
