Visited a very unusual and interesting house recently, it's called Tyntesfield, it's a Victorian Gothic Revival house and estate near Bristol, North Somerset, UK. The house is a Grade I listed building.
This is the house taken from the main drive/entrance.
Manfrotto Tripod, Pentax K3 II paired with the Samyang 10mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS CS (Ultra Wide Angle) lens, triggered via Pentax remote. Standard run through in DxO Optics Pro on Mac then a good old fashioned battering in Snapseed on iPad Pro. There were originally a number of people (visitors), signage and a mobility scooter in this image too.......just detracts so much for me that I had to erase them......💪

The one with the blue cere is ♂
Budgerigar
Scientific Name: Melopsittacus undulatus
Description: Since its introduction into captivity, the Budgerigar (or 'budgie') has been bred into a variety of colour forms, including pure white, blue, yellow, mauve, olive and grey. In the wild, Budgerigars are small green and yellow parrots, with black barring above, and a small patch of blue on the cheek. The male has a dark blue cere (skin at the base of the upper mandible surrounding the nostrils). In the female this is brownish when breeding and light blue otherwise. Young Budgerigars are similar to the adult birds, but are duller and have a dark brown eye (which is white or yellow in adults).
Distribution: The Budgerigar occurs naturally throughout much of mainland Australia, but is absent from the far south-west, the north of the Northern Territory, Tasmania and the majority of the east coast.
Habitat: Budgerigars are nomadic and large flocks of birds can be seen in most open habitat types, but seldom far from water. Very large flocks, numbering occasionally in the tens of thousands, are seen after a season of abundant rainfall and food. Flocks are usually much smaller, however, and range from as few as three birds up to 100 or more. Birds in a flock fly in a characteristic undulating manner.
Seasonal movements: Nomadic.
Feeding: Budgerigars feed almost exclusively on the seeds of native herbs and grasses, such as porcupine grass and saltbush. Seeds are mostly eaten from the ground and the bulk of drinking and feeding activity is in the morning.
Breeding: Budgerigars tend to breed in response to rainfall, and may produce several broods if conditions permit. The nest is a bare cavity in a suitable tree branch or in the trunk. The female sits on the round white eggs. As with other parrots, young budgerigars are born naked and helpless.
Calls: The contact call is a warbling "chirrup"; "zit" is given in alarm.
Minimum Size: 17cm
Maximum Size: 18cm
Average size: 18cm
Average weight: 28g
Breeding season: Any time of year when conditions suitable
Clutch Size: 6 to 8 eggs
Nestling Period: 35 days

DESCRIPTION: We have very cloudy weather in CZ during December. I had only approx 20 minutes to catch a photo of Great Conjunction between the clouds in December 22, around 17 PM. The photo is not so impressive, but I am happy to had small change to captured it. Jupiter is in the center together with his four moons, Saturn is close right. His egg shape is caused by his ring. There is no more details because low elevation (approx 13 degree) above horizon and strong wind...
This conjunction was visible in year 7 BC and very probably was perceived like sing of coming the Messiah.... Conjunction will be visible around this year Christmas above south / west horizon after sunset. DO NOT MISS IT. To watch Star of Bethlehem around Christmas is possible only one in hundreds of years.

Description:
About 5,000 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus lies NGC 6888, the Crescent Nebula. Its arched and filamentary form was sculpted by the powerful stellar winds of Wolf–Rayet 136, colliding with slower material expelled during a previous red supergiant phase.
In this multiband image, crimson filaments trace hydrogen, teal clouds mark oxygen, while additional emission from sulfur and hydrogen-beta enriches the structure with subtle chromatic variations. The combined data highlight the complex network of shocks and ionized gas surrounding its central star, creating the intricate shell known as the Crescent Nebula.
Spanning about 25 light-years, the Crescent Nebula is a dynamic structure, destined to be dramatically reshaped when its central star ends its life in a supernova explosion.
Technical details:
The image was processed in an HOO palette, with H-alpha mapped to red and OIII mapped to green and blue. Additional H-beta and SII data were later blended in using a screen blending mode, with H-beta encoded in blue and SII encoded in yellow. The natural star colors were restored using PixInsights' Ballesteros blackbody estimator tool.

Description of the District
The MacNab-Charles Heritage Conservation District is a one
block area bounded by MacNab Street South, Hurst Place,
Charles Street and Bold Street in the City of Hamilton. The
district consists of seven properties. These properties include
two multi-unit residences, a church and manse, two residential
properties and offices.
Cultural Heritage Value of the District
According to a plaque, the cultural heritage value of the district lies in the fact that:
The downtown block of MacNab Street South, Hurst Place, Charles Street and Bold Street contains a unique collection of stone buildings primarily dating from the 1850s.
While stone architecture was relatively rare in Ontario, Hamilton’s Mountain offered a ready supply of limestone. The local resource was used to great advantage in the hands of the newly-arrived Scottish stonemasons, establishing pre-Confederation Hamilton as a city renowned for its wealth of handsome stone
architecture.
With the MacNab Street Presbyterian Church as the focal point, the Victorian stone and brick streetscape of MacNab-Charles evoke a genuine sense of history in the heart of this city.
Designation of the District
The designation of the MacNab Charles Heritage Conservation District was initiated by the City Hamilton.
The Study and Plan were conducted and written between 1986 and 1988 by the Local Planning Branch, Planning and Development Department and the Hamilton-Wentworth Region. It was carried out in consultation with a local District Steering Committee made up of owners from the area.
The MacNab-Charles Heritage Conservation District is protected by By-law 90-144 which was passed on May 9, 1990 by the City of Hamilton.
I couldn't find a decent description of this spot, but it is located in the Truso valley in Georgia, and earlier I posted a picture of that scenic valley (www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/49212632131/in/datepo...) where we stayed the night and enjoyed the spectacular setting of this Caucasion mountainscape.
What you see here are travertines, a sort of terraces formed by local springs, that contain a lot of minerals. The most famous terraces I know can be found in Turkey (Pamukkale).
The ones here are mostly orange and white, and if you look closely you can see a continuous film of water flowing over the rocks, depositing more material.
20 September 2019 I came back from my journey over a part of the Silk Road to and through Central Asia. 4 months of traveling through 14 countries (Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran) before I flew home from Teheran. An impressive journey in countries that are extremely beautiful, with lovely and welcoming people and diverse cultures and history.
Intense traveling with more than 20000 kilometers in our mobile home on sometimes roads that hardly could be called that way. We saw many villages and cities (some wonderful, others very ugly), countries that are transforming from the old Soviet era into something more related to older cultures and the way people live, often funded by oil readily available around the Caspian sea. We saw the amazing mountains south of the Black Sea, the wonderful Caucasus, and the high mountains in the far east close to China with peaks over 7000 meter, and not to forget the (Bulgarian) Alps!
We crossed the great steppe of Kazakhstan. a drive of at least 5000 km, the remnants of lake Aral, once one of the biggest lakes of the world, saw a rocket launch from Baikonur (this little part is Russian owned), we crossed many high mountains passes, and drove the breathtaking canyon that comes from the Pamir, beginning at ca 4500 meter, and going down for ca. 400km to an altitude of 1300 meter, driving for 100's of kilometers along the Afghan border.
And then the numerous lakes with all sorts of different colors from deep cobalt blue to turquoise, and one rare spectacle in Turkmenistan where a gas crater is burning already for more than 40 years. And finally and certainly not the least to mention an enormous amount of wonderful, hospitable and welcoming people. The woman often dressed in wonderful dresses, and bringing a lot of color in the streets of almost of all countries we visited.

Depth of field: The blurred foreground and background create a shallow depth of field, drawing the viewer's attention to the middle ground.
Vignetting: The darker corners of the image, also known as a vignette, are a stylistic device often used in vintage photography to focus the viewer's eye on the central subject.
Color tone: The entire image has a warm, slightly desaturated color cast, giving it a retro look.
Texture: Layered textures mimic signs of wear and tear, such as scratches or stains, to create the impression of an old photograph.
Composition: The figures are not placed in the center but rather follow the rule of thirds, creating a more dynamic composition.
Perspective: A low camera angle makes the small statues appear more significant and present.
Low contrast: The colors are muted and the contrasts reduced, which also contributes to the nostalgic vintage style.

The beautiful emerald green water gives the pond an elusive dreamy atmosphere. In the water you can also find an impressive sculpture that appeals to the imagination. Description of the District
The Durand-Markland Heritage Conservation District runs along Markland Street and includes Park Street and MacNab Street between Markland Street and Herkimer. Chilton Place is also included.
The Durand-Markland Heritage Conservation District is found in the City of Hamilton and consists of 51 residential properties.
Cultural Heritage Value of the District
The Heritage Conservation District Plan describes the heritage character as:
“Although a few residents were built in the 1850s and 1860s, the Durand-Markland study area is characterized by a predominance of late nineteenth century to early twentieth century building construction. There is a range and diversity of structures from small, vernacular worker’s cottages to large classically detailed houses of the upper middle class.
The most prominent architectural styles are nineteenth century Italianate (1850-1900), and Queen Anne (1880-1910), and twentieth century Tudor Revival (1900-1930s) Examples of such architectural styles as Second Empire (1860-1880), Colonial Revival (1900-present), Edwardian Classicism (1900-1930), and four-square (1900-1930) are also represented in the district ”.
It goes on to state:
“The distinctive architectural features of the area are its scale, mass, decorative detailing and building sitting. Remarkably few individual buildings and properties have been extensively altered or subdivided over time due to changing tastes, economics and fashion The overall nineteenth century residential character coupled with a distinctive treeline and canopied streetscapes have generally been retained and occasionally enhanced”.
Designation of the District
The designation of Durand-Markland was initiated by local residents. Unterman McPhail Cumming Associates Heritage Conservation and Planning Consultants and Wendy Shearer Landscape Architect Limited completed the plan in 1994 for the City of Hamilton.
The Durand-Markland Heritage Conservation District is protected by By-law 94-184, which was passed in 1994 by the City of Hamilton.

Description of the District
St. Clair Boulevard Heritage Conservation District runs along St. Clair Boulevard between Delaware Avenue and Cumberland Avenue. The district consists of 38 residential properties.
Cultural Heritage Value of the District
The Heritage Conservation District Planning Background Study and Plan discuss the value of the district:
“The St. Clair Park survey, registered in 1911, was one of a number of residential surveys laid out in Hamilton’s east end just after the turn of the century, a boom period for residential construction throughout the City. The St. Clair Park Survey formed part of a middle to upper class residential area comprising a number of surveys, which extended from King Street East to the foot of the escarpment and from Wentworth Street South to Gage Park.
As was common practice in Hamilton at the time, the St. Clair Park Survey has building restrictions in the form of restrictive covenants registered on deed to the lots. Restrictions on the cost, construction and setback of the house account to a large extent for the cohesive character of St. Clair Boulevard’s urban streetscape.
While the restrictive covenants associated with the St. Clair Park Survey has building restrictions on its social make-up, the social composition of St. Clair Boulevard was nevertheless very homogenous, comprising middle to upper-middle income families of Anglo-Saxon origins. In the course of its history the boulevard has attracted some of Hamilton’s most prominent citizens; notably, he well-known and highly-respected judge, William F Schwenger and the successful construction company manager, Ralph W. Cooper. The Boulevard is also noteworthy for its social stability, owning to the long-term residence of most of the homeowners and
continuous use of the houses as single-family dwellings”.
Designation of the District
The designation of St. Clair Boulevard was initiated by local residents following the designation of the adjacent St. Clair Avenue district. According to the Background Study and Plan, “a petition requesting designation of the area...signed by all 37 homeowners, was presented to LACAC at its December meeting
and was supported by this committee”.
The St. Clair Boulevard Heritage Conservation District is protected by By-law 92-140, passed in 1992.

Accessibility Description: A black & white photograph of the Grand Canyon, showcasing its immense scale and layered geology. Mid-frame, the landscape stretches outward in jagged ridges and plateaus, each layer of rock revealing eons of geological history. Above, a dramatic cloud formation dominates the sky; billowing, textured, and luminous against the monochrome backdrop. The absence of color emphasizes contrast and depth, lending the scene a timeless, contemplative mood. DESCRIPTION OF HISTORIC PLACE
Built in 1860 of magnificent stone and brick, Roselawn is situated in a lovely garden setting along Port Colborne's Fielden Avenue and displays many characteristics typical of the Second Empire style. This historic three-storey dwelling has served a number of residential, social and cultural purposes and is associated with a number of Port Colborne's most prominent families.
The description of Lofoten as a fairy tale land comes from the Norway's great poet Bjornstjerne Bjornson.
When you like nature as me, Lofoten is an amazing place to be, especially Reine. Reine has been chosen by Time magazine as one of the most beautiful fjords in the world, a sight for sore eyes. The views are just breathtaking, snow covered mountains, deep fjords, and beautiful colors.
The weather in Lofoten changes rapidly in winter. First half of my trip it was none-stop raining almost every day, I spent most of my time scouting or sitting in my cozy water front Rorbu cabin and enjoying the view from the window.
Landscape photography is a waiting game, this is the one after ten days of waiting ...…
Does it look like a scene from Frozen?

Description of Historic Place
Inspired by the medieval cathedrals of France, the twin towers of this large stone church rise above the city centre in Guelph, Ontario. Constructed as the centrepiece of a complex of Roman Catholic religious and educational buildings, the church is prominently situated on the brow of a hill. It features elements inspired by the French Gothic Revival, including, a twin-towered facade, a large rose window and a polygonal apse with radiating chapels. The formal recognition consists of the church building on its footprint.
Heritage Value
Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception was designated a National Historic Site in 1990 because:
- it is an exceptional example of the High Victorian Gothic Revival style in Canadian architecture.
Unlike the earlier, Ecclesiological phase of Gothic Revival, during which architects were restricted to certain correct precedents, the High Victorian Gothic Revival gave architects freedom to draw inspiration from a wide variety of periods and countries, while still following certain established principles as to composition and structure. Like many churches designed by English-speaking architects in the late19th century, the design of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception shows the strong influence of the French Gothic Revival. Designed by Joseph Connolly, the principal architect for the Roman Catholic church in Ontario, Our Lady of Immaculate Conception incorporates French Gothic Revival features, such as a twin-towered façade, rose windows and a polygonal apse with radiating chapels. Built in 1876-1888 with towers completed in 1925-1926, the church is considered to be Connolly’s best work.
Character-Defining Elements
Key elements contributing to the heritage value of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception include:
- its High Victorian Gothic Revival style, evident in its plan, composition, façade, and architectural details inspired by the French Gothic Revival, including a cruciform plan with side aisles, prominent nave, triforium arcades, apse with radiating chapels and ambulatory, twin-towered façade, spire at the central groin vault, and large rose windows;
- the sense of verticality, created by the use of steeply pitched roofs with gables, dormers, pinnacles, pointed arches, and tall narrow window openings;
- the symmetrically organized façade with its twin square towers with pinnacles and paired openings, massive rose window with bar tracery set in a moulded pointed arch, row of lintel statuary set within a blind arcade, and carved tympanum;
- the division of side elevations into bays defined by engaged buttresses, with each bay accented by a pointed arch and a stained glass window;
- the north and south transepts, each distinguished by two lancet windows below a large, stained-glass, rose window with flanking narrow pinnacles;
- the polygonal apse, comprised of radiating gabled chapels with another level of gables above;
- the extensive use of pointed arches and stained glass windows with bar tracery throughout the composition;
- the Gothic Revival styling of the interior, including, tall pointed-arch windows in the chancel, clerestories inset with rose windows, stained-glass windows, nave-arcades with false triforium-galleries, granite columns with acanthus capitals supporting the aisle arcades, and rib vaulting;
- the high quality design and craftsmanship of its interior, including its wood and stone carving, its stained glass, its stencilling, its ironwork, its mosaics, and its excellent acoustics;
- its prominent siting at the top of a hill overlooking the city;
- viewscapes to and from the church and the city.

Accessibility Description: A close-up of a tall wildflower stands in the foreground, its slender stems topped with clusters of small, vivid pink petals. Fine hairs along the green leaves and stems catch the golden light of the low sun, creating a soft halo. The background is an out-of-focus forest floor, dappled with warm sunlight streaming between tree trunks. Lens flares in soft green and gold add a dreamy effect to the sunlit scene.

Scientific Name: Equus grevyi
Description : The Grevy's zebra is the largest living wild equid. It can be distinguished from other species of zebra by its larger ears and narrower stripes. Vertical stripes cover most of the head and body, with the exception of the belly, which is white. The stripes are narrow and close-set, being broader on the neck, and they extend to the hooves. The belly and the area around the base of the tail lack stripes. The legs are long and are marked with horizontal stripes which extend down to the hooves.
A broad black stripe runs along the centre of the back, and is separated from the other stripes by a narrow white zone. The mane is very tall and erect, and also striped. Its head is large, long, and narrow with elongated nostril openings. The eyes are large, round and heavily fringed. It is mule-like in appearance with a brown muzzle and a relatively short, strong neck. The ears are very large, rounded, and conical. Foals are born with brown and white striping, with the brown stripes darkening to black as they get older. They have a mane that extends to the length of the back and shortens when they reach adulthood. There is no difference between the sexes.
Head and body length: 250-300 cm
Height at shoulder: 140-160 cm
Tail length: 38-60 cm
Weight: 352-450 kg
Distribution : Southern and eastern Ethiopia, northern Kenya.
Habitat : Sub-desert, plains and arid, open bushed grasslands.
Food : Herbivorous nomadic grazer: feeds primarily on coarse grasses and sedges, but will eat bark, leaves, buds, fruits, and roots. Grevy’s zebras have incisors that they use to clip grass and numerous cheek-teeth that grind their food.
Reproduction and Development : Within a single population, around ten percent of the mature stallions will occupy territories from which they have sole access to receptive females, although other males are still tolerated within the area, provided females are not in oestrus. Amongst these territorial stallions, the most dominant ones control territories near open watering holes, which mostly attract mares with foals, while more subordinate stallions control territories away from water with more abundant vegetation, which mostly attracts mares without foals. The resident stallions of territories will try to subdue the entering mares with dominance rituals and then continue with courtship and copulation.
Grevy's zebras can mate and give birth year-round, but most mating takes place at the beginning of the rainy season and births mostly take place in August or September after the rainy season. Mares become sexually mature at three to four years. A female in estrous may wander though as many as four male territories a day and will mate with the dominant stallions in each of them. Bachelors, or outside territorial stallions, sometimes "sneak" copulation of mares in another stallion’s territory. While female associations with individual males are brief and mating is promiscuous, females who have just given birth will reside with one male for long periods of time and mate exclusively with that male. Lactating females are harassed by males more often than non-lactating ones and thus associating with one male and his territory provides an advantage as he will guard her against other males.
Gestation of the Grevy's zebra normally lasts 13 months, with a single foal being born. Within an hour after birth, the young are up and about. Initially, the mare and her newborn stay away from the others for a few days, preventing other mares from approaching her foal. Isolating the foal in this way helps with bonding and prevents it from accepting another female as its mother. She imprints her striping pattern, scent and vocalization on her foal. After this period of bonding, and until the foals reach the age of three months, females form small groups (three females and their foals). Mares may leave their foals in "kindergartens" while searching for water. Kindergartens tend to be guarded by an adult which may be a territorial male. Foals remain dependent on their mother’s milk until six to eight months of age and stay with its mother for up to two to three years.
Adaptations : Zebras rely largely on their sense of sight and hearing. Large eyes set far back on the head give a wide field of view. The large ears can rotate to pick up sounds from many directions. The zebra’s stripes are used as a camouflage to hide the zebra from its predators. The stripes on a moving zebra serve as a disruptive pattern, confusing a pursuing predator. Long legs and hooves help the animal to run fast. A zebra can run up to 64 km/h. Speed is its only defense from predators (lions, cheetahs, and hyenas), from which they can outrun over long distances.
As a response to the sparse plant life in their habitat, Grevy's zebras usually do not form stable herds and only congregate during periods when they must migrate to find grazing or water. Grevy's zebras have a much more open society than those of other equid species and associations between individuals, other than between a mother and her foal, rarely last for more than a few months.
Male territories are patrolled and marked with dung and are the largest of any living herbivore - up to ten square kilometres. Territorial males also vocalize loudly to assert their dominance within the territory. To adapt to a semi-arid environment, Grevy's zebra foals take longer intervals between suckling bouts and do not drink water until they are three months old. Stallions have large testicles and can ejaculate a large amount of semen to replace the sperm of other males. This is a useful adaptation for a species whose females mate polyandrously.
Threats to Survival : There has been a 70% reduction in population size in the last 30 years. Threats include hunting for skin and meat, and loss of grazing habitat and access to water, due to competition with increasing herds of domestic livestock. Additional threats are due to reduced river flow due to irrigation, and uncontrolled tourism in reserves, which causes disturbance and destruction of vegetation.
Status : IUCN: Endangered; CITES: Appendix I
Zoo Diet : High fibre bulk cube, timothy hay, carrots, and apples.

The other side of the coin.
I have to apologize for not being to involved on here much lately. My life has been crazy and busy. I have started another account (@NeverInfamous) that I have used in conjunction with with the start of a business associated with people photography.
Along with starting a business and chasing my dreams, I have fought hard to battle depression, PTSD, heartache, high blood pressure, and everyday stress. All this while working full time, taking classes off and on, researching, developing, training for a half marathon, and trying to hold together a growing family.
I want to thank all of my followers on here for your support the last year or so and I hope that you will continue to support me on my other account. Thanks for reading!

The church of San Lorenzo in Turin. Also known as the Royal Church of San Lorenzo, because it was commissioned by the Savoys, royal family. It is located on the north-west side of the central Piazza Castello, between Via Palazzo di Città and Palazzo Chiablese, adjacent to the Piazzetta of the Royal Palace. The current Baroque structure was the work of Guarino Guarini, carried out between 1668 and 1687.

Description in English and Dutch:
I already uploaded photos of the Westduinpark in The Hague near Scheveningen. Wednesday I was in the same park, but then the part near Kijkduin. This is photo number 7 in the new series. It is an impressive dune area that runs approximately from Scheveningen harbor to Kijkduin.There are Scottish Highlanders in the protected nature reserve to control the vegetation and there is really a lot to see in terms of flora and fauna. It is a combination of dunes, open sand area and forest. It is very special there because dunes and forests alternate and sometimes merge into one another. On warm sunny days, a lot of women walk barefoot on the sandy areas, to experience the ultimate feeling of freedom.There are hiking trails as well as cycle paths and horse riding trails in the very interesting park. A lot of people are really impressed by the vegetation, bunkers from the Second World War, steep dune hills and the impressive viewpoints. The view at those points of the beach and the sea and on the other side the buildings of the city is truly phenomenal. Come there once and experience a invisible blanket of oasis and peace. You will imagine yourself in a kind of paradise where worries and problems do not exist and where the war of thoughts in everyone's head disappears like snow in the sun for a moment in time, because freedom is in each of us.

Description: After a few weeks of dull weather surrounding the city, the arrival of Ramadhan month brings beautiful and dramatic weather to the city. Though it is a bit tiring to go outside under the hot sun, I find it irresistible not to go out and shoot the beautiful weather. The morning started with beautifully during the blue hour but dark clouds with rain came just when the sun is about to come out of the horizon. Though I did stop my shooting session that morning, luckily I decided to continue back as the clouds starts to clear and revealing the morning sun and it's ray behind the clouds. The image was one of the shot taken for my time-lapse session that morning.
Do visit my vimeo profile below for the time lapse version of this shot later.
