This is the same image as the last photo, but with the telephoto lens setting. I moved a little closer to the tree, but tried to keep about the same distance as the last image.

This one is just for fun (hence the 6th photo). I think it would've been better had I been closer to the beach and a crab was living in one of the holes.

Trying out the super close up option with the holgaroid.

Extra super holgaroid fun!

Now if I only could see what was being shot each frame... ;]

I'm still amazed with how tight the band of properly focused image can be. This is the Sigma 150 OS at f/2.8.

I like the feeling of depth on this one.

It may not exactly the most concrete example of depth of field because there isn't a sharp foreground, but I intentionally made it unfocused because I wanted to capture a sense of mystery.

this is from my AS course where I experimented with Shallow Focus and Depth of field.

I chose this picture because it shows not only depth of field but I was also able to capture motion, when he kicked the water unexpectedly.

I like the focus being on the back of the glass but it is a tad distracting having that mass of blurred light at the front of the photo.

Here is another pictures of my favorite animal, sea turtle. I focused on his face and blurred the rest.

Using what we learned in Module 3, I think this photograph (and it's sister photograph) reflect the lessons taught in the lectures. In this case, the foreground is blurry, which leads our eyes immediately to the action in the background; it's almost as if the viewer is hiding behind the flowers and peeking into the distance.

This is an example of depth of field because the foreground object is not in the focus while the background object is.

Wide depth of field

This image has a small depth of field beause the square in front is most in focus. I set it up so that everything had a love feel to it, and so that the LO VE statuette would have a silhouette feel to it. (home)

Luckily, the deer scattered and spaced themselves out to give this photo an element of depth.

I liked how using a narrow depth of field in this photo produced a dark, neutral background that sets of the bright colors of the flower.

The whole team during half-time. Its a good example of depth of of field as the trees in the background are blurred and our main focus is on the players. 1/250 F8

I took this at Foothill. This is with the wide angle lens setting on my compact camera. I like how everything is very clear around the tree, the focal point of the image.

I took this picture whilst on the train in the morning. I really like how the trees in the forefront are blurred due to the motion in the photograph. Although I couldn't manipulate my shutter speed, I tried to capture the image as clearly as possible.

This cosplayer was really easy to photograph, but was very willing to let me move him to an area where there were others in the background, so I had a sense of depth! It also allowed me to use shallow depth of field to make him stand out in the photo!
