Met Police deploy steel Riot Wall during #n30 National Strike march - 30.11.2011

 

On 30.11.2011 as a response to the n30 march being held by striking trade union members protesting against the government's public spending cuts, the Metropolitan Police erected a massive steel Riot Wall acroos the entrance to Whitehall, the Mall and Cockspur Street. A smaller barrier denied any members of the public access to Charing Cross Road.

The surrounding area is reflected in the sunglasses of a soldier from the Djiboutian Contingent serving with the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) at the airport of the central Somali town of Belet Weyne, 16 November 2012, approx. 300km north west of the Somali capital Mogadishu during the arrival of further Djiboutian troops to AMISOM Sector 4. The air lift is part of a deployment to begin boosting the just over 300 personnel already on the ground to approx. 1,000 troops serving under the UN-supported AU mission in Somalia. One of our deployed locations was Manas. In 2012, 1,600 military members across all branches participated in seven deployed locations across the world. A photographer was in Manas and sent their photos in to our office.

The Remotely Operated Cable Laying System ROCLS can be deployed under ROPOS or lowered to the seafloor independently and picked up there by ROPOS.
