These tiny timid little creatures are found in southern British Columbia, you might find one if you look carefully in wooded areas. If you're in their habitat in the spring they will definitely make their presence known with the singing they do in their mating season. It's amazing how much noise such tiny creatures can make (this one is about 1cm in length or about 1/3 inch).

Definitely almost got hit taking this one but it's a blind corner and I figured no one else would be that dumb to pull over and get in the middle of the road! #dedicated
Definitely the campest statue I have ever seen, this item on the window sill at the Hoxne Swan caused much mirth for my sister, Jerry and myself.

Really starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel with photo subjects in the dark at home. The flash definitely helps though.
This is the timing gear on my NB8B MX-5. The keyway is broken. I don't think the crank bolt was done up properly when the timing belt was changed by a previous owner, which allowed the keyway to wobble and flog-out on the crank. I've since purchased and installed a crank saver which includes a longer key and a fitting that goes on the balancer end of the key to help keep it all in-line. Unfortunately, despite this and some special loctite keyway adhesive, the symptoms of the problem (rough idle, way down on power) returned about 6 months ago.
Pulling off the balancer to have a look, half of the extended key fell out.
It's at the point where it's probably not viable/worthwhile to attempt another crank saver key, (although I did bend this one slightly when putting it in and subsequently need to straighten it back out, which may be where it failed); and replacement NB8B motors are generally expensive, unknown condition, and/or high kms.
Strongly being considered is some sort of engine conversion...
