Those would be the crisp brown ones in the middle. They're made from chickpea and is a well known vegetarian snack originating from India.
I'm not sure what the others are called though as it was my first and only time and this North Indian restaurant. I took this with my old PowerShot S95 with a rather high ISO 1000.
This crazy Tower of Terror was huge. Judging from the 5 main carapace of the crab, there were 5 crabs in this dish. Not bad for AUD39.80, and a bargain on special for AUD31.90.
A very good dish for a starter, but also messy food.
Blue swimmer crabs were coated in a seasoned flour and deep fried to a crisp and then wok-tossed in chillis, onions, 豆豉 fermented black beans and Sichuan Peppers, a super tasty mix. The carapace was so crisp, I found myself munching through 2 of them! I only regretted it later when my tummy felt heavy with oil.
Listed on the menu as 馋嘴美容蹄 Sauteed Stewed Trotters with Pickled Chilli Sauce, this dish was a huge bowl of 辣椒 chillis, 川椒 Sichuan and oil hiding 美容蹄 pork trotters and 莲藕 lotus root. It tasted quite good. Intense chilli and Sichuan Peppers from the oil, warm, but not fiery. The silky, gelatinous texture of the pork trotters is exactly how it should be cooked, with the tendons and skin almost indistiguisable, perhaps because of the way it is cooked, almost confit-style in oil.

this Chicken Chop is a popular dish among Malaysian Chinese, originated from the British colonial era where most of the Western Chinese cooks were of Hainanese descendants.
The chicken breasts fillet is coated with fluffy egg dough and deep fried till golden brown. A sweet and sour sauce is then drizzled over all along with some mixed beans and vege.

Served at Dave's Hot Chicken
7720 149th Street West
Apple Valley Minnesota
Saturday July 13th, 2024
My wife and I decided to try the recently opened Dave's Hot Chicken. I went with the mild spice and she went with the light mild. The chicken was tender and juicy, the breading was crispy and the spice levels were perfect!
I will be stopping back later to be try the spicier versions. Compared to the Chick-Fil-A, Popeyes and Raising Cain's in Apple Valley, I'm putting Daves at the top of my list
from the 212 ft Texas Star Ferris Wheel.. this thing was huge…
I’ve been to the state fair a few times but never tried any of the ‘fried fried’ foods, but this year I went with a group and we went to town… After all the fried foods we had, I’m surprised I didn’t lose it…I couldn’t bring myself to try the ‘Fried Butter’…here are some we tried:
Sweet Jalapeno Corn Dog Shrimp – very good, like shrimp corn dogs…
Deep Fried Apple Bites – yum!
Fried Cheesecake – think cheesecake eggroll…
Green Bean Fries – I still prefer my green beans with no grease…
Fried Cheese Curds – not for me…
Deep Fried Chocolate Covered Strawberries with powdered sugar – aka Waffle Balls… crazy
Fletcher’s Corny Dogs and Roasted Corn – nothing off the wall but really good…

Deep-fried shrimp from Padmanadi, a vegan restaurant in Edmonton, Alberta!

Why veganism:
A fruit of high calories and instant energy. Best taken raw but I love them when deep fried (coated with flour mixed with and egg).

This recipe was given to me by a friend of mine who got a box of old recipes at a garage sale last summer. The dates of these recipes are from the 1920's to the 1950's. What makes this clipping interesting is the name on the recipe and the Clifton address. Clifton is the home of my favorite Hot Dog in all the world, the Rutt's Hut Ripper, with It's "Secret" relish. Could it be that the recipe was leaked by someone in the Rutt family? I am not sure, but it seems like it might be so.
I am going to make it and see how it rates to the real thing. I am surprised about this recipe since I always thought the relish was pickles mustard and coped carrots. Another friend of mine even suggested the secret relish was pickled watermelon rind from a Pennsylvania Dutch supplier. I will let you know how it turns out and post some photos.

So, searching around the internet for the recipe for deep frying battered olives (sooooo...good) and came across something unusual. A recipe for deep fried OREOS. I was skeptical at first but once I tried them...WOW. Recipe is easy, dip a frozen OREO in pancake batter and throw it in the deep fryer. You really should try this, you won't be sorry.
