Mayor James Thernes cuts a ribbon dedicating the new footbridge in Fort Ransom, N.D., and officially naming it the Fort Ransom Memorial Bridge on Sept. 15, 2012. After the small community's access was destroyed in recent flooding, North Dakota Army National Guard Soldiers constructed a new walk bridge throughout the summer of 2012 as an Innovative Readiness Training project. The surviving sculptures, reliefs, and items found during the excavation of the Acropolis Hill site, including from the Parthenon and the Erechteion, are displayed in the Acropolis Museum in Athens. The museum also has high-quality casts of most sculptures now in other museums, primarily in the British Museum in London. A stone bench overlooking Chapman Lake was dedicated to the Monticello Sculpture Gardens on August 13, 2018, on the college’s Godfrey Campus. The bench was commissioned by the children of longtime garden supporters, and Foundation board member, Joan and Chuck Sheppard, to honor their 65th wedding anniversary. More than 300 people will be providing all the same services – Treasurer, Revenue, DMV, City Clerk, Council Chambers, Volumeter Resources, and Communications.
