This is one of the video clips taken at the Mape New Testament dedication,
celebrating the publication of the New Testament in the Mape language
for the first time.
“For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky, and doesn’t
return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud,
and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so shall my word be
that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it
shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing
whereto I sent it.” ― Isaiah 55:11

Our daily challenge. Dedication.
The minute I saw this challenge I knew I would like to create something to dedicate to my brother, who has been battling cancer for three years. His strength and courage is an amazement to me every single day. I had no idea what I was going to do, and went through so many ideas, but nothing seemed right. This picture did not start out to be for this challenge, but evolved into it.
Even though life for so many people suffering from this horrendous disease has been turned upside down and a bit skewed, you are still who you are...bright and colorful, reflecting your warmth on everything that surrounds you. Burning bright.

A stone carved in dedication to Hecate by/for the Greek father and son pictured at the bottom. Note Hecate's three priestesses with the double torches and cool headgear. If you look at the large version of this picture, you might be able to puzzle out the Greek inscriptions. I'm curious enough to eventually haul out my Liddell-Scott (Gk.-English dictionary)...eventually.
It was two years today that my dear friend, Erica, lost her battle to cancer. I miss her...5-24-10 #444

Tears in Heaven (Eric Clapton)
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven
Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven
I'll find my way, through night and day
Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven
Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knee
Time can break your heart
Have you begging please
Begging please
Beyond the door
There's peace I'm sure.
And I know there'll be no more...
Tears in heaven
