Quinnipiac Hillel chapter celebrates Shabbat for the first time in the new Peter C. Hereld House for Jewish Life. October 12, 2012.
Dear Friends,
I just wanted you to know that at 8:15 pm on Tuesday, October 20th (The National Day of Hope and Remembrance) we will be dedicating the mural “73 Cents” in honor of the memory of Fred Holliday. We will meet by the mural in the CVS parking lot at 5001 Connecticut Ave. I am asking everyone to bring either a flashlight or a candle. We plan to light the mural with at least 45 beams of light to represent the estimated 45,000 American people who died last year do to lack of medical access. We will be singing songs from Buffy The Vampire Slayer- The Musical Episode, “Once More, With Feeling.” Fred wrote his dissertation on Buffy and I can think of no better way of remembering him. I have no idea how many people will show up. We could have a small gathering or a flash mob. Please attend if you can. If attending is not an option please tweet or blog about it.
Thank You, Regina

The new city hall is approximately 135,000 square feet and is located between the former City Hall and Building 2. More than 300 people will be providing all the same services – Treasurer, Revenue, DMV, City Clerk, Council Chambers, Volumeter Resources, and Communications.

this is really a first ed. of molesworth's marathi dictionary. which is just chilling out on the reference shelves here. (doing just fine! it was printed in 1831 so it is made of real paper and will outlive us all.)
molesworth is the greatest dictionary i have ever used or heard about. (alas) these are some not-so-great phone pictures i took while i had to look some things up the other day.

The imposing neo-classical Sts Peter & Paul church in Athlone is most memorable for the outstanding sequence of richly illustrative windows by Harry Clarke Studios of Dublin, made long after the death of Clarke himself, but magnificently paying homage to his incredibly rich colouing and stylisation.
These are simply some of the most stunning windows I've ever seen, and though Harry Clarke's name is the one remembered here, it is Richard King who deserves to be better known for these magnificent works, created long after the death of Clarke himself by King whilst chief designer for Harry Clarke Studios in Dublin, carrying on the studios brilliant output in a style showing much affinity with the master himself and worthy of comparison,.
This window represents Christ in Glory surrounded by various saints. It is somewhat tucked away in the small mortuary chapel in the south west corner of the nave (beneath the right hand tower of the facade).

The Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan is proud to celebrate the centenary of President Ford's birth throughout 2013. On April 16, 2013 General Brent Scowcroft (ret.), the U.S. National Security Advisor in the Ford administration, met with students and faculty members. Later that afternoon, the Ford School hosted a public reception for the installation of the scale model of the statue of President Ford from the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. Additional remarks from Susan M. Collins, Ingrid Tighe (MPA '13), and Mike Ford. The sculptor, J Brett Grill, also attended the event.
So it was a snowy weekend and lots of people went sledging. Some brought home made sledges (I kid you not when I tell you we saw someone with a toilet seat) and others had bought those plastic ones. On our way back to the car, I saw this chap who had one of those rubber tyres that you usually see in the swimming pool, except he had wrapped it in plastic.
Now that's dedication for you. This photo is dedicated to that man. I hope he landed safetly and had lots of fun playing.
