Dedicated volunteers manned the Canadian Lifeboat Institute (CLI) MV Fraser Lifeboat (Tyne Class) underway in Vancouver Harbour. This vessel was purchased from the Royal National Lifesaving Institution (RNLI) and shipped to Canada.
The Lifeboat was originally built by the RNLI as “The Famous Grouse (47-021)” and has now been renamed the “Fraser Lifeboat (1A-04)”.
The Canadian Lifeboat Institution has been in operation since 1981. During that time members have participated in over 4000 incidents, working in close cooperation with other search and rescue organizations.
The Canadian Lifeboat Institution is a volunteer, not-for-profit, nationally registered charitable marine Search and Rescue organization. The CLI is not directly funded by government, but relies entirely on personal and corporate donations, as well as community and other grants.
The Canadian Lifeboat Institution does not attempt to replace the Canadian Coast Guard or its Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCM-SAR). We provide vessels and trained crews to assist these, and other organisations, to save those in peril on the waters of Canada.

The present sanctuary was dedicated in 1887 after being located in four other locations around downtown Macon. The Sanctuary contains many interested Christian symbols to enhance our worship. Among them: the presence of the trefoil (a symbol of the Trinity); the presence of the quatrefoil (a traditional Christian symbol of 4 overlapping circles); a beautiful stained-glass rose window; and 12 beautiful stained-glass windows depicting the life of Jesus. Also of architectural note, the inside of the sanctuary roof is shaped like an upside-down ship’s hull, using the traditional Christian symbol of a boat to reflect that safety and sanctuary can be found in this holy space.
Beneath the sanctuary is the Great Room, a smaller gathering place and home to the Faithful Followers Sunday School Department. It was christened “The Great Room” in 2004, after a renovation, in appreciation of “The Greatest Generation,” the older members of FBCX who given their time, resources, and talents through the years to make First Baptist a place of worship, discipleship, missions and fellowship.

The Desert Botanical Garden is well designed for disability access. Some of the side loops have gentle grades. There are plenty of benches throughout the Garden and plenty of shade.
This is a bench with some character for Bench Monday. Thanks to karma (Karen) for introducing me to some of these groups. HBM!

A section of the Hsinbyume Pagoda in Mingun.
The Hsinbyume Pagoda also known as Myatheindan Pagoda is a large pagoda on the northern side of Mingun in Sagaing Region in Myanmar, on the western bank of the Irrawaddy River. The pagoda is painted white and is modeled on the physical description of the Buddhist mythological mountain, Mount Meru. The pagoda was built in 1816 by Bagyidaw. It is dedicated to the memory of his first consort and cousin, Princess Hsinbyume (Princess White Elephant, 1789–1812) who had died in childbirth in a site nearby. The pagoda's design is a great departure from Burmese pagoda design norms. It is based on descriptions of the mythical Sulamani pagoda on Mount Meru, and the lower parts of the pagoda represent the mountain. Seven concentric terraces represent the seven mountain ranges going up to the Mount Meru according to Buddhist mythology. The pagoda was badly damaged by an earthquake in 1836 and was restored by King Mindon in 1874.

Dedicated in 1926, the Column features a hand-painted spiral frieze that celebrates three historic events: the discovery of the Columbia River by Captain Robert Gray, the end of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and the arrival of the ship Tonquin. The artwork was created by immigrant artist Attilio Pusterla. 125' Tall.
El edificio Grassy se encuentra en los inicios de la Gran Vía de Madrid (España). Fue uno de los primeros construidos al finalizarse el primer tramo de dicha avenida.
Está ubicado en las cercanías de la calle Alcalá, justo al lado del Edificio Metrópolis, dividiendo el paso entre la calle del Caballero de Gracia y la Gran Vía. Se compone de dos casas independientes situadas en una planta triangular, ambas unidas por un vestíbulo ubicado en la planta baja. La denominación del edificio se debe al establecimiento que en 1952 hiciera el relojero Alejandro Grassy en su planta baja.
A comienzos del siglo XXI se destaca un anuncio de la casa Rolex (una corona dorada). Desde esta misma época el inmueble alberga un museo dedicado a la relojería.

The Grassy building is at the beginning of the Gran Vía de Madrid (Spain). It was one of the first built upon completion of the first section of the avenue.
It is located near Alcala Street, right next to the Metropolis Building, dividing the passage between the street Caballero de Gracia and Gran Via. It consists of two separate houses in a triangular plant, both connected by a lobby located on the ground floor. The name of the building is due to the establishment in 1952 did the watchmaker Alejandro Grassy on the ground floor.
At the beginning of the XXI century Rolex ad house (a golden crown) it stands out. From this same time the building houses a museum dedicated to watchmaking.

Years ago, we bought Caspian Sea Beluga caviar at the Grand Bazaar, Istanbul market and eat on the street coffee shop: with Turkish coffee instead of champagne and strawberries… And we laughed and said that street food is good enough for Anthony Bourdain, good enough for us... Sadly, Fish-rows were rancid and we left at the coffee shop and waiters were very happy.
Finally, your poor soul is free…May you rest in peace. Hope that God gives your family the courage and strength to bear the loss.
Dedicated to my uncle Carl, he was a gentle soul that touched the lives of everyone he knew. He cared for everyone and treated them as family, he bent over backwards to help others wherever he could. He was a joker and a prankster, half the time you didn't know if he was full of shit because he made up elaborate stories on the spot to screw with you.
He wouldn't take your bullshit either, I learned some valuable lessons from the man when I was young, stupid, and cared only about myself. He set me straight and I didn't want to speak to him for many years because of my own stupid pride. He may not have known, but he taught me a lot about treating others with respect.
The love he had for my aunt Kathy was nothing short of beautiful, they were inseparable and brought so much joy to each others lives that I could never imagine them being apart, for as long as I can remember it has been "Kathy & Carl", as one. My heart breaks to see them torn apart, but I know they will be 'Together Again'. We love and miss you Carl.
