it needs decorating & i need to make bedding & chair cushions & covers. *rolls eyes*

maybe now i can declutter her playroom a bit & spread things out over the 2 rooms.

i'm going to use the navy & red turtle & mushroom fabric in this photo for her bedding.

Desk, post decluttering. Note that I didn't manage to declutter the cat (though he's done some crash decluttering himself from time to time).

I am in Niagara and have been for a bit. I've been tending to my mom's home during the first four days here (redecorating the dining and living rooms, patching up and helping to declutter.) The work I promised to tackle is done and now we are set to unwind, visit, and take the boys around to places we knew when we were kids. I took my sons to Fort George National Historic Park in NotL yesterday as a start on my search to meet the challenge posed to me during my Get Pushed assignment. Fort George is significant as a point of conflict in the War of 1812, know as the Napoleonic Wars in the rest of the world, wherein the US failed in its one and only attempt to to put its doctrine of "manifest destiny" into practice into effect over British North America.

ADD & paper clutter seem to go hand in hand and I've been buried under it for a long time. Every time we sit down to eat at the dinner table, we have to push some papers off to one side, or take one pile and put it on top of another pile, or move a pile (or two) from the table to some other place that it will clutter up. No, I'm not proud of this. I hate it. It is very stressful. But every time I try to put some sort of organization in place, it seems to fail. I got cube organizers with fabric bins and that helped A LOT because a lot of the stuff that built up "To File" could just get slipped into a cubbie. It wasn't perfect, but it was a major improvement. The problem is that we just have so much paper coming into the house that really needed to be organized in some logical & safe way (like financial stuff) or the boy's schoolwork (I want to keep samples to document his progress) or artwork that I really want to keep.

I spent a LONG time going through piles today. Lots of scanning. Lots of throwing out. Lots of shredding. I'm not done. Once I've tackled all the visible paper clutter there are those fabric bins and desk drawers and file folders. But damn, it's almost like I can breath again. And that feels really good.

I bought this Sept 16, 1996. I am selling it on ebay.. to declutter.. I have owned this for a crazy long time.. as weird as crystal pepsi

I'm loving my new rolling mill!. David made me a stand for it. I just need to add some weights to the bottom for now. When we get a house of our own I'll be able to secure it straight to the floor.

www.organizingbuddy.com - these are my shoes in shoe-boxes. i made a picture of the shoe, then printed the pics out, cut, and labeled them. easy, fast, cheap, and it fits into any angle.

i actually created a template for this, so the pictures of the shoes just easily can be inserted into it. if someone would like to have the template, i would happily email it. just drop me an email on info@organizingbuddy.com

wish i'd unplugged the dehumidifier n moved the soap to declutter a bit… but it's real life :)

I bought 4 Panama embroideries 20 years ago, put them in standard oak frames (which I'm going to spray black), and hung them with fishing line which disappears to the eye. A friend customized hooks so I can slip them under the acoustic ceiling tiles and move artwork around. (He bent British art hooks formerly shaped like an S for wood picture moldings in old British houses. Thanks, Idaho.)

These are excellent bookshelves or atleast I have been using them for that purpose, to carry all my files and folders. This is a heavy duty rack, again, ofcourse from Ikea.

Total throwaway photo -- I didn't use the tripod, didn't adjust lighting, didn't declutter or move tables, etc -- but what say you about including this type of shot in the MLS?

1) Yes, it shows those big-ass windows and makes the house seem roomy!

2) No, OMFG it looks like serial killers will murder you while you watch TV, plus scary red well, plus NO.

The new location for the table which serves as a desk and a dining table. It has leaves that pull out to make it twice the size. Also the bookcase I need to declutter and replace.

I'll print up a list later when I add the carts. See anything you like? email an offer to declutter@jenncutter.com The games are NTSC except for a couple of Japanese imports.

Although two things (well, three if we're being picky) on it are mine. Guess which?

vintage porcelain teacup. . .purging some vintage goodies in a new etsy shop called wolfiedigs. It's not a new venture or direction, just a way to declutter the house a bit (I hope!)

Why do books always look so untidy? I feel a declutter coming on.

Quiet of early Saturday Morning. Cool enough to declutter, want to sit and write and connect instead.

A Victorian inspired swimming costume for Snuffle. Complete with bathing cap and trunks.

Made as part of the KAL on Fuzzy Mitten Toys forum.

Started as part of my DeClutter Session in July.

19 things Donated on the 19th day of my 30 Day challenge. Today I cleaned out the “linens” drawer in my kitchen (aka towels) along with the storage bin that was holding even more towels, table cloths, extra cloth napkins, extra pot holders. . . you get the picture. In the end I kept 6 of my favorite hand towels, 2 cute whimsical towels, 3 dish towels, and 2 table cloths. And it all fits neatly in a single canvas bin in the storage area of my dining room, instead of crammed into a tiny kitchen drawer that can be better used for tin foil, saran wrap, and just a few pot holders.

Out:

6 kitchen towels

6 cloth napkins I didn’t like

4 pot holders

an apron I never wear

And to hit 19, 2 more shirts out of the closet.

(Canvas bin from the Martha Stewart collection at Home Depot. I love that they're just a touch nicer than the usual canvas storage bins, plus these have labels on the front!)
