Here's the deck the evening we finished it. Andy built it in a DAY and it looks grand. I love this photo... it looks cozy, you can see inside the house and the cat's eyes look like headlights.
We stripped siding and anchored the deck ledger to the house rim joist. The deck will be 24' wide x 16' deep, and is just under 2' high at its highest spot.
I made deck pads from the pour as to by redi imx was $260 and this was maybe $40.

After removing half the plants on our deck, we rearranged what was left. I'm quite pleased with the results in spite of the lack of pots.
Notice as well the unfinished nature of the neighbour's deck. It's been like that since last summer. I don't know if he's had any issues with strata.
