I haven't posted anything new for a little while, as I've been fixing up our garden decking with the help of Jess our cat and Flossy our new kitten. Its been a little stressful at times with them both disappearing as soon as I've lifted a deck board.

Next door lives one of those gardeners who gets to the nurseries in the spring and can't resist buying a little of everything! But to her credit, she gets them all potted nicely. As for me, I stroll next door and visit [lots less work for me]!
Chris and Thomas also did the stonework for the patios and walkways [and my son-in-law built the house and deck].
An enormous tumble of boulders rest at the bottom of the Niagara American Falls. Seeing people on the "Hurricane Deck" brings into scale how massive are the boulders that we see from the view across the Niagara River. Just above the Hurricane Deck is a section of the falls called the "Bridal Veil" that is separated from the rest of the falls by land diverting the river water.
Visitors following the series of decks and staircases can get as close as 20 feet to the roar an splashing of this natural wonder. Although looking fragile when viewed from a distance across the river and the Niagara Gorge, the decks are substantial and secure. They are painstakingly taken down for the winter season and rebuilt every year.

every night the chairs on the top deck of the carnival spirit were laid flat and lined up...i liked the pattern it created.
Southport Pier is a Grade II listed structure in Southport, Merseyside, England. At 1,216 yards (1112 m) it is the second longest in Great Britain after Southend Pier. The Southport Pier Tramway runs from Southport Promenade to the pier head (the far end of the pier).
The pier is a completely open structure, with modern railings on an older base, and a deck made of hardwood slats, affording a partial view of the sea below. Plans to restore the Victorian shelters along its length remain just plans.
The modern structure at the pier head, the Pavilion, was designed by Liverpool architects Shed KM. The building houses a cafeteria with airport style floor to ceiling windows overlooking the beach.

The wonderful little town of Cobh known for being the last port of call for the Titanic before it sank, but also for these colorful houses called the deck of cards.
Flight Deck, one of my favorite rides now. It has the speed, the turns, the flips, the pains, but more importantly, the ADRENALINE! The ride also tries to mimic the feeling of flying an F-14 fighter jet.

If you have the chance and the time, visit the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier museum in San Diego's harbor. Take the time for the guide island tour. On the command center for flight deck operations you will find the list shown in the picture. Quite interesting detail you will get on the ready room's tour, all the names are pilots which are died, missing or get captured.
Well, our halls are pretty much decked out as they're going to be. Our tree as well. All that's left is to finish wrapping the presents, cooking ahead of time, and any last-minute preparations that may need to be done before the crowd gets here for our big, family holiday gathering before we know it!
The more we can get done now, the more we can relax later. At least that's the plan. And seeing all the decorations around the house, like this one in our entranceway, helps keep me in the mood.
On the rear of the ferry, open areas for those who can't go two minutes wthout a smoke. and a lovely area to watch the sea pass by.

Taffy was born under our deck in April 2005. In December 2005, we caught her and had her fixed.
She spent her entire life on our deck. She was killed by a neighbor's dog in September 2020. She was 15 years old.
