The moment of truth: The motherboard exposes her LGA2011-v3 socket to the CPU. This excites the CPU, who then enters her with its 2,011 mating prongs.

BACKSTORY: Building my new computer! We decided to name it Thailog. Thailog ("Goliath" spelled backwards) is the evil twin of Goliath from the cartoon Gargoyles. Carolyn's± computer is named after Goliath, so it just makes sense that ±Clint's± computer is the evil twin of ±Carolyn's± computer. A quick summary of the computer's specs is: Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz with an Arctic Freezer I30 cooler on a ASRock X99 WS EATX motherboard with 24G of Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 2400mHz RAM, a Radeon R9 270 video card, and a Crucial M500 240GB M.2 SSD...all inside a massive NZXT Phantom 820 case. It was a $1560 build, summarized on my blog at clintjcl.wordpress.com/2015/03/06/journal-hardware-purcha...

I made this project as a birthday present for my girlfriend: she uses Adobe Lightroom a lot, and of course the usual stuff, browsing the internet, watching movies etc. so It didn't need a powerful video card.
She has a tiny desk in a tiny room so in addition to not having the space to put the case, she has to have the computer really close to her: this is usually difficult to manage because tiny cases usually don't have the airflow to be silent, and the usual result is too much of a compromise between noise, performances, and space.
So I came up with this: a 240mm radiator inside a Fractal Node202, without a dedicated video card.
I had to saw a piece of metal to pass through the water hoses, then modify the AC plug to fit the radiator, and then flip the top cover and make an opening for the vent in the new position:
as you can see, the vent was originally made to fit a 140mm fan, which remains unused for the moment.
The intel 7350K is running @4500Mhz with very low temperatures under load and an almost silent noise output from all the fans. There is of course space for improvements but overall I am very satisfied, and most importantly my girlfriend loves it. :)

Last year I promised my twelve year old that we would build a gaming PC together. In August 2017 I bought a Gigabyte GA-B250M-Gaming 3 "Micro ATX" motherboard (on Amazon) together with a load of other components. Two weeks - and before we had started the build - my mother passed away abroad, and I spent much of the next few months dealing with that, and a new job. We eventually got around to the build in November, and the Gigabyte performed wonderfully, just as it said on the box. In early December I acquired a MSI gaming motherboard - a full sized ATX that better filled the Corsair case that my son was using - and so we rebuilt the PC on the MSI.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Gigabyte GA-B250M-Gaming 3 - it's just superfluous to our needs, and we don't have the space to stash it away. It's only been used for a month and is essentially new in every respect. The photos speak for themselves.

Left is the RAW and Right is Topaz denoise and sharpen. Of course despite my camera advanced AF, it was obviously miss spot-on focus. Rather I would say it's about 90% AF accuracy or less. Topaz recovered it nicely. For those of us shooting wildlife frequently, this might be the means to recover those slightly out of focus images...

I wanted to experiment how far I could get with the design of a Computer case, from the standard that people picture in their mind when you talk about a PC, a boxy shape.
Even though it is watercooled, it is also less than 5 litres, and weighs about 2 Kgs.
I didn't paint it because I wanted to reach a point in which it looked good that way.
The black Petg of the case is Recycled Pet
Right now It is my main PC, it works for everything and the specs allow for it, from 3D editing on Blender and Fusion 360 to playing at 1080p.

Just finished my first computer build which I have named "Land of the Ryzen Sun" the inspired by my favorite travel destination Kyoto where traditional and modern Japan collide.
The computer will mostly be used for video and photo editing. Everything worked well from beginning to end of the build process. The BeQuiet! 500dx computer case had plenty of space to work in and has a very clean minimalist look to it.
List of Parts:
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor
Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black 55 CFM CPU Cooler
MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard
Team T-FORCE DARK Z 32 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Samsung 860 Evo 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Seagate FireCuda 520 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Zotac GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB GAMING Video Card
be quiet! Pure Base 500DX ATX Mid Tower Case
EVGA 550 W ATX Power Supply
Noctua NF-F12 PWM chromax.black.swap 54.97 CFM 120 mm Fan
Future plans:
I would like to upgrade to one of the newer graphics cards that just came out. I ended up reusing a Zotac 1660 from my previous computer to test and see if it would run better with a better processor since Adobe Premiere tends to be CPU hungry (my previous processor was an I7-7700 with 32gb of ram). Even though it does run noticeable smoother with the Ryzen 9 3900x, it's still not where I want it to be once I start color grading 4K footage. Lastly I would like to add another nvme drive and a modular power supply to clean up the wires on the backside.

I have been utilizing my PC since December 2009. I as of late had an issue where my PC was freezing haphazardly while I was perusing the web. I had a go at all that from rebooting, resetting profiles, reinstalling windows (I had vista), and so on nothing worked. then I explored on the web and ran over Asus' rog Strix PC administration. I chose to call them. they let me know that the issue may be because of a terrible hard drive. they supplanted my hard drive and presently my PC works impeccably! thank god, I wouldn't understand what to manage without my PC. Yet again much obliged, ASUS!

Piñasphere joined the fray for the Case Mod WorldSeries 2022
I wanted to experiment how far I could get with the design of a Computer case, from the standard that people picture in their mind when you talk about a PC, a boxy shape.
Even though it is watercooled, it is also less than 5 litres, and weighs about 2 Kgs.
I didn't paint it because I wanted to reach a point in which it looked good that way.
The black Petg of the case is Recycled Pet
Right now It is my main PC, it works for everything and the specs allow for it, from 3D editing on Blender and Fusion 360 to playing at 1080p.
