I took my son down to a sleep-away camp in Washington, DC. I spent 5 hours on the bus down, 5 hours walking around in the blistering heat, and then 5 hours on the bus back to NY. It was a long day.
Walking into the train/bus station, I passed this fellow, and I knew that with his cool look and this fabulous backdrop, I had to get a portrait. His name is Daryl, who was at the station to take the bus back home to Baltimore. He was very kind and cooperative. I took a whole bunch of shots, because the light was actually kind of challenging to work with. This one was rather underexposed SOOC, but I was able to fix it up in LR quite nicely.
By the way, I finally transitioned to LR4 (not 5!)...I'm always way behind the times when it comes to software...but I prefer it that way, as there are usually fewer bugs to deal with.
More Street Portraits
So I have yet another set of DC figures and I certainly like this bunch quite a bit especially Thomas Wayne
From left to right:
Vigilante: I actually like the shield torso because of the straps and the BrickWarriors revolvers really tie the figure together
Flashpoint Batman: basically my previous figure but with new BrickWarriors pistols (which I must say are awesome!! There are so many uses for them)
CW Jay Garrick: pretty simple but gets the job done
Ma’alefa’ak: so credit on this design goes to th_squirrel and I must say it is a great design
What do you think and who’s your favorite of the bunch?? I plan on trying to upload more this week except on Monday since I’ll be watching the Star Wars Rebels marathon and the season finale (which I’m looking forward to seeing these characters fates especially Thrawn)

The lensbaby did a great job with this abstract view of the overhead lights in AC/DC lane. The bokeh and central focus give it a wonderful effect, imho. Lensbaby sweet 50 Composer Pro.

I think i've almost nailed focus stacking down to a T. This time around, I managed to brace my camera in a position that still allowed me to manually turn my focus ring without moving the image.
Jade and Kyle were really interesting minifigures to make. The first time I conceptualized them, I definitely didn't think of using the parts displayed in this picture; Kyle was essentially a clone of Hal with different hair preferences, and Jade would have used an inferior RoTS Clone Trooper torso. I'm pretty happy with how Gardner turned out as well - I like his white belt here.
Death and life will finish this series!
Having its first flight in April of 1966, this DC-8-52 flew for United its entire career. It was moved to the California Museum of Science and Industry in June of 1984 after its retirement. It was placed atop its pedestal in front of the renamed California Science Center in 2002 where it "flies" to this day.
A two shot panorama.
Peak bloom for 2015 is predicted for April 11-14th. The trees are always a delight to photog and tourists, as seen here in 2014.
I've got a ton of stuff saved up, so I'm basically just gonna be spam-posting for the next week or so to get everything out there. Some stuff is already out-of-date.
Lashina: Had Duchess, so figured I may as well make her better known costume. Aurra Sing hair, modified Bat Lord helmet, Hermione head, Savage Oppress armor, Kryptonian torso/legs.
Cyborg Superman: Inspired mostly by Jonathan. Ninjago hair/helmet, Star Wars head, Superman torso, Power Miners leg.
Black Mask: Just wanted to try the Bruce Wayne suit and tie on him before it went to The Roman forever.
Desaad: Young Boba Fett head, Wacky Witch torso.
Static Shock: Gave him Lightning Lad's torso/legs.
More to come, let me know what you think!
New Muppets parts! Got the figs way early, of course made some DC figures with them.
Left to right:
Doctor Sivana
Star Sapphire
Professor Pyg
Deadman
Cheetah
From L to R
Batgirl: I took away the belt and gave her a Willie Scott head with a sticky label over the eyes to give it the the look that Batman and Robin have.
Mirror Master: It's been a while since I posted my last Mirror Master and I think that this is probably the best I can get it.
Aquaman: I ordered the trident and hook off Firestar Toys and I think they work well.
Deadshot: Got the head and found an old exoforce torso which works well for him.
What do you think?
DC Figures #16
From L to R
Jim Gordon: Updated torso and coat.
John Constantine: New trench coat.
Spoiler: Trying to complete my bat family.
The Wizard Shazam: Haven't seen anyone make this guy before and thought it would be cool for my Shazam figures.
What do you think?

Tell Me Your Thoughts
“Why am I not like the others, Prime One? These questions! These feelings! Why am I more like an eternal of New Genesis than a bug?”
______________________________
I’m no expert on many comics published by anyone outside of the big two, and certainly not even those from DC’s new Young Animal imprint. From my outsider perspective, Wildstorm, Mother Panic, Cave Carson, and Shade the Changing Girl seem to be excellent titles in their own rights - just not relevant enough to the mainstream DCU to sufficiently warrant my interest.
But in early May came a new contender to my attention - Bug: The Adventures of Forager. The titular character is a creation of none other than the outrageously imaginative Jack Kirby himself. While I still have a LOT of Kirby to catch up on, all you really need to know is that Bug is a humanoid bug of New Genesis’ sub-surface who feels an inexplicable calling to something greater than himself. It’s a tremendously interesting premise for a story, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this 6-issue miniseries takes this humble hero.
Two more to go.
