The light through the window made the old glass bottle come to life. The view through the window took me back in time. The chair made me want to sit and just feel the time slipping over me; wrap myself in it like a warm, worn quilt.

Just a quick shot taken from my back patio while it was still light. It is not a telescope photo. It was taken with my 150-600 mm Sigma Sport lens on my Nikon D810. Hand held.

As I was leaving I noticed the sun shone on the front of the lighthouse. And the light still shone. Always look back.

The middle fork of Fitzhugh Creek runs through a 2100 acre wildlife preserve in Modoc County California. The preserve provides quality habitat for deer and pronghorn “antelope,” as well as a host of birds and, I have to believe, black bears as it just looks like bear country to me. On this particular day I was in the middle of a 4 day “me time” camping trip, just generally trying to disconnect for a bit. Modoc County is probably the most remote county in the nation’s most populated state so it was just what the doctor ordered. I didn’t see much wildlife on this day but I also didn’t see any humans for about 6 hours as I explored around the back country. I’d never heard of this creek until I came to it that late spring day, and I probably spent a half hour just soaking it in under mid-day light that was nicely diffused by some high overcast.

Dawn breaks at Ricketts Glen State Park in Pennsylvania. Here is a bulb capture at sunrise at the lake there above the waterfall glens. I shot this originally in RAW with the WB at "cloudy", but in this version I have adjusted the WB from 5900K to 5500K at the "daylight" temperature. The cooler cast makes for a beautiful color tones that really pulls out the magenta and purple tones.

Waning Moon 27%. Moon was approx. 243,000 miles from my scope and camera. My first daylight moon shot for a while.

While fishing off the coast of South Australia we were treated to a dawn light display, lucky I had my phone with me and a few decent sized snappers for a few meals 😋

Sunlight is split into two canyons and gives one last rush through southern Colorado, USA, ending another beautiful day. The yellowed evergreen trees low across the canyon on the left are actually suffering from a blight or some other disease, maybe pine beetles, that has discolored them. Thanks for looking!

I tend to not share lightning photos where the bolt gets blown out, but man this one was so crazy. The entire road and desert gets lit up like daytime...and the reason that right stroke is so bright is it flashed in place about 5-6 times.

This was east of Why, AZ last night around 2am. I did barely any editing on this...just something for fun! Couldn't have been more than a mile away. Man I love this stuff!

SP 7342 leads a pig train across the Santa Fe diamond in West Colton. I loved catching these experimental paint schemes back then. Much like the heritage units of today.
