Went for a 28 km run early this morning. Beautiful sunlight and frost on the ground created some great photo opportunities.

Welcome to the Mother Ship!
Note to self: do not attempt to travel on the London Underground during the day on the Easter weekend!
The Abbey of Saint Galgano was a Cistercian Monastery found in the valley of the river Merse between the towns of Chiusdino and Monticiano, in the province of Siena, region of Tuscany, Italy. Presently, the roofless walls of the Gothic style 13th-century Abbey church still stand as majestic ruins in the countryside.

I love trains. As a kid, I used to sit by the train station by my grandpa's house just watching the trains go by... I just loved to watch the express trains speed by the station...
Today, I just happened to be by the tracks, hoping to catch the rising sun, but saw this train coming down and all of a sudden those childhood memories just flashed before my eyes... got a bit giddy, took a few shots, but didn't quite have the guts to stand there for much longer, 'coz that train was barreling down pretty damn fast... plus, the morning commute traffic was getting heavier, and didn't want to draw much attention...
Yes, I know I'm weird..!!! But, I'm okay with it..
Tried to give it an older feel to the image.. trying to bring out that image I had in my mind from my childhood...
Thanks, and Good Night all..
My first ever attempt at this sort of stuff and it came down a treat. The most simple set up also. It was just a whit piece of A3 acrylic on a cardboard box in the bath.
Strobist also pretty simple:
Speedlite 430EXii 1/16 24mm just right of camera. Black card used in attempt to bring out edges.
Stood out in the rain and this didn't quite work as expected but there will always be more rain to practise with.
It was Mother's Day yesterday in UK, so my beautiful daughter made the day wonderful. In the evening we went out for dinner and for a long walk by a river. I wish such beautiful days lasted longer...
Do forgive me my crazy f-stop setting, I was taking photos of plants, lovely closeups at 1.8, when the tree branches grabbed my attention... I wasn't thinking of changing aperture up until I saw it on the screen :)

I know this is dark... as my mother said - it has a "hardness" to it. This is sort of a dedication to all those beautiful souls who are hurting, in pain, and feeling a lone. Thank God that there is an answer to every problem, yes? No one is truly alone.
I just need to be happy with this the way it is.
After 53 shots, loading onto the computer, testing how this all lined up, I quit.
I really wanted to do this one well, but when Soda sat there and stayed still for a semi-long exposure, I didn't have the heart to go back and reframe so it looked like I was going straight down. So yeah, more of my legs. Still unshaven for those who care.
(But of course I won't quit. I'll probably be editing this as soon as I wake up. WHY?!?!?)
Sheesh. Almost missed sending to the face-down tuesday group again. After all the deciding how it should work, if it would cut the mustard, I fricking forget again.

Those kicks were fast as lightning
In fact, it was a little bit frightening
But they fought with expert timing

Found a set of blue bottles at a yard sale over the weekend to display in my windows. I love the way the glass changes with the light, it is always a visual treat.

it's not a "today is......" since the mom (me) forgot to pick up a chocolate cupcake. but the mom did want to show off some of her halloween duckies. and this picture *might* be construed as a political statement, if you are of that bent ~giggling~
99/365 aDaD "a duck a day"
#day89 #89of365 I decided to stay at home this morning, to bake the bread that I prepared yesterday, and work in the garden. Tomorrow I plan an early start. So in the end it was a short evening walk out for another sunset over the river, featuring one of the new street lights installed as part of the bridge restoration last year.
