Which is loveliest in a rose? Its coy beauty when it's budding, or it's splendor when it blows?
~ George Barlow
hss. this week's theme in the 52 is "macro" so will this be my submission? i don't know yet. the week is still young!
Notwithstanding the cold temp (as I type this, it's -5C) I found a sign of spring. It's a bud, yes I see a bud!
Should really be viewed in the Light Box. Come on, it's the weekend, you have time.

The daffodils don't look too healthy after all the wind and rain we've been having
The solar farm is up and running. 6.5MW of power is amazing. In 25 years they'll be taken away again but in the meantime they'll make a lot of juice, pay a lot of rent and give a lot of money to the local community. Oh yes and there'll be a wildflower meadow for grazing and bee hives.
If it wasn't an economic necessity we wouldn't have leased the site out... but it will make a big difference to everyone here. We're going to start off by building our own broadband network so it doesn't take 3 days to download a file!
Now the press have got a hold of it.. we will see what sh*t hits that big fan over there. I hear the Mail on Sunday are planning a lovely hatchet job article on solar farms spoiling the landscape... although they had to hire (illegally landed without any permission) a helicopter to take photos of this site from the air as it's not really viewable from the ground or surrounding area. Duh! Anyway here's a little song... www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eBT6OSr1TI

With a day this pretty, we decided we had to get out and stretch our legs. It was a little brisk up on Grandview Drive, but it was nice to see some sunshine for a change. Grandview offers a great view of the Illinois River, which we really enjoyed seeing without ice today.

For the 'Get Pushed' weekly theme in the 365 2013 Edition group.
My challenge as suggested by shani1709 is 'Heat'.
Another very cold day in Britain, but the Sun still provides some warmth despite the icy wind.
My challenge (given to me by Mr. Kevin Thai www.flickr.com/photos/kthai/) for the Get Pushed week is to use the same Lego Minifigure and show a range of emotions everyday. Today's emotion is Boredom!
Clone Commander was planning a lazy day today, sitting in his favourite armchair and reading his newspaper. Boredom soon set in and after trying hard to stay awake, Clone Commander started drifting off to sleep.......
If you suffer from 'looking too much' on selfies and photos that you take of yourself (just like I do) - here's a solution! Double mirror. I love my back, my head shape and the hairdo. Everything looks ok, as long as my face is not visible :) But then I always roll my eyes when I hear my clients saying: 'oh look at my face' 'oh no, my hair looks big' 'I've got a horrible nose' 'my cheeks are so chubby' and so on and so on... So I always say out loud: YOU ARE PRETTY, SILLY (damn it) - all women are! and then in my mind: 'except me, of course' :) We are just hilarious...
Doing a lot of things to push the envelope but still saving dead for last.

I took a fall for the sake of the art of dying. Another frame for the Gashlycrumb Tinies group, which I'm working my way through in tandem with Robin...
Oh, I didn't intend to do this one half nekkid but it just happened to be a Thursday and when I got to the stairwell, one thing led to another and there you have it.
Did you know that adaptation and experimentation is nothing new with respect to Edward Gorey's work. In the translation notes of the Japanese release of Eclectic Abecedarium, Mr. Motoyuki Shibata encouraged readers to try and adapt their own verses and even add colour to the illustrations for fun.

Getting pushed yet again. There was a full moon tonight so I rushed out and grabbed a shot of it. Went downtown to the Pappajohn Sculpture Park and found 'Thinker on a Rock' by Barry Flanagan. Added my supersized moon with a bit of a glow and some stars. Done and dusted! May have to take a picture of Curly tomorrow to rest.

The traffic lights are at the junction of Preston Road (A6) and Millennium Way (A674) which leads to Junction 8 of the M61 Motorway.
With my camera on a tripod I set the lens to f22 and the shutter to the B setting. I released the shutter and allowed the lights to go through a full sequence before closing it.

When I made this outfit all I was thinking about was "black strips" and it was my husband that brought up the fact that it looks like a prison uniform after I finished it. Which of course gave me the idea of doing a spotlight "on the run" type of photo. Since today's theme for ODC is Shadows I thought it would be the perfect time to do this photo ^_^
This is for the Our Daily Challenge Group
Today's theme is "Shadows"

Mar 26 : Day 85

I was assembling furniture at my sister's new apartment most of the day . . .
I am tired and in pain now.
This is the view from my niece's new bedroom window,
. . . they have not yet moved in
Maybe over the Easter break ?
Day 85: These common dolphins were seemingly everywhere this afternoon off the coast of Dana Point, California. These were but four of literally hundreds (possibly 1,000+ ?) of dolphins that I saw in a super pod. Dolphins were jumping into the air and swimming as close as several feet from us. It was an awe-inspiring sight and incredible experience. Later on the trip, we witnessed two gray whales on their 10,000 to 14,000-mile (16,000 to 22,500-kilometer) northern migration from Baja California to the Bering Sea off Alaska. Yes, it was a magnificient day.
I got a little burnt yesterday on my feet, a little on my face and a patch on my left hand...I gotta master the technique of applying lotion better. Today is a new day and Brock and I are going to try some of the specialty foods today! should be fun! and we plan to just relax in the sun again! :) Enjoy Day 85
ps. Brock has been taking the photos for me because I don't want to leave my camera on tripod lol HOWEVER, I still compose and tell him what to do (except he missed the part about my feet being cut off lol...oh well, he is learning! :)
