.....and a very easy 365 pic. One dose down, second one in 28 days.

(Sam's club pharmacy because that's where the NM DOH sent me)

Hi. I'm { karen } - er - Karen. And I'm a Flickr addict.

Come on - you are, too, and you know it.

Late last night I went to the grocery store to buy food to eat but mostly to photograph since that was the theme I was working on this week. I found a bunch of flowers in the clearance bucket and thought I would brighten my table for a few days with the 99 cents bouquet of sunflowers. When I got to check out the manager looked at the sorry flowers and was like no way, you aren't getting those and he proceeded to take them away. The cashier finished ringing up my order sans the clearance flowers. After I had paid the manager had given me the discount bouquet and had found two gorgeous new ones that he also added to my pile. I have never had so many flowers before other than when someone has been ill. I was and am still so touched by his generosity.

I was trying to come up with all kinds of ways to capture them. Here I literally stuck them in a vase, placed them in the middle of my street and let the sunlight do it's magic.

ODC - street photography - haha my best efforts...

This is my new picture for my 365 project for the weekly theme "Food Photography".

Again a very busy day, so you get only a quick shot.

Day 84/365: 2015

The weekly theme is food.

I baked some scones so I could take a photo...now I suppose we'll have to eat them! ;)

Thanks all. I spiced this photo up a little bit... with the Orton and Sunlight effect courtesy of PicMonkey.

Thanks all!

Our Daily Challenge - Movement

Get Pushed - well, - one of my 'get pushed' challenges was to get a reflection that dominates the photo (errr ummm.)

85/365 -Around the house - Day 85

----------------------------------------------------

Was walking by as I saw & had to shoot it.

Another attempt at Martin's Get Pushed challenge. I've got a bit closer this time and there's some stars thrown in. It looks quite strange, what with the dying light, fast travelling clouds over 120 seconds, various cheap filters combining and trying to light things up a bit with a torch. But I am pleased. It is certainly different.

The day didn't start too badly as I had a puncture, so I couldn't get to the garage on time for the slot I'd already booked the day before to have the exhaust checked out. I also wanted to replace every bulb on the car just to stop the incessant warning signals beeping telling me that bulbs have gone when they haven't. It's like sharing the car with R2D2. With R2D2 on whatever the droid equivalent of speed is.

We've been having a terrible cold spell and it is tricky trying to shoot after dark, or outside at all really. It is a bit wearing to be permanently cold. For this, I blame the absent minded spell I seem to be having. A colleague in my office was looking in the top drawer of a filing cabinet, blocking my path. Totally without thinking, I pushed her in the back like she was an extension of the drawer, so I could get by. I know treating women is objects is wrong, but this was just ridiculous. I apologised profusely of course!

Day 85 of 365 Photo Challenge.

Ancient Places.

December 25, 2021

After a day of cloud and wind and rain, sometimes the setting sun breaks out again. And touching all the darksome woods with light, smiles on the fields until they laugh and sing, then like a ruby from the horizon's ring, drops down into the night.

~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, American educator and poet

Have a great day/night and don’t forget to put your records on! :)

Explore Front Page! Thanks everyone! :)

This sweet Hummingbird landed on a grapevine branch which I have placed in our kitchen garden (situated outside our back door). I took the photo from inside the house, through a window.

My yoga practice is finally paying off :)

Week 2 of 52 weeks

I had a push from the technically excellent and all round nice man, Martin Sandberg, also known as Swedish Goose. Now, I didn't really get too much of Martin's suggestion into this shot, but that's not to say I can't try later in the week too. He said: -

'My idea for you will not be possible to do in your lunch hour, I hope that is OK for you... I want you to shoot a landscape at night. Preferrably with stars in it. If you want to go all the way and do a startrails image that would be fantastic. If the natural lights are not good you could always light up the landscape with artificial light.'

Now. It isn't really night, no stars, startrails or artificial light. So, not really the best! Worse still, I only really shot this late as those shots I'd taken at lunchtime were blurred as I forgot to take the camera off manual focus, and wasn't paying attention because the snow kept blowing in my eyes. Anyway, enough of the excuses. It is almost night in this shot, I'm trying!

Image quality is a bit of an issue, my filters aren't top quality and the arctic wind was blowing the camera all over the place. Remarkable it came out this well I think. I absolutely froze out there and am still sitting with a hot beanbag shoved inside my top as I've caught a bit of a chill.

I said enough of the excuses, but that's the reason I've not caught up with my comments. I will soon.

for FGR - Catch the Sun

this isn't very good - but busy day and very tired.

This is good visibility today and needed boosting in snapseed!

For 30/115 - a whiter shade of pale.

I forgot one of these needed to be a 365 Toy Project shot. I guess it will be this one. It's hard to choose, but I wanted one of the glasses ones - that's the "toy" for today! ~.^

I love warm weather with windblown hair.

Day 3 of 'love health' for get pushed week.

I can never spell ophthalmology.

Did you know there is something called the white coat effect, it means that measuring blood pressure, puts the blood pressure up. Doctors don't wear white coats anymore, they are an infection risk. The white coats, that is, not the doctors. Although.......

As this is my gorgeous son, also known affectionately as The Beast, I have submitted this to the Glass Slipper Blog for week 12 - A Beautiful Beast. I'm also adding it to my remaining 52 projects as I like it!

After the rain, I could not see stars in the sky due to the thick

cloud but saw many bright stars on the road.
