Okay, so I know I said I was concentrating on reflections this week, but this just had to be my picture of the day! I simply love it! I wish I could fave it myself! :)

Since changing the orientation of my camera to portrait, and adjusting the height of my water drippy thing so the drops are falling an extra couple of inches, I'm seeing some quite amazing collisions!

I did actually catch the reflection for this too, but an errant droplet spoiled it by causing a ripple through it! You can see it below...

Anyway, it's getting towards the end of the month, and I don't feel like I've explored half of the potential of these water drop collisions yet, so I'm thinking about going on for another month!

What do you think? Should I continue?

Get pushed week on the 365 project and malcjsmith has set me the challenge to hit shuffle on iTunes and take a picture based on the resulting song. He asked me to do this to find out more about me based on my album collection.

Today iTunes has given me a song called "Impossible 2B Loved" from an album called "This Ain't Rio" by a local band called Lament. I would recommend you look them up, they describle themselves as "latin, fiesta, rhythmic, explosion". Their website is www.lament.info

We came across them when they were playing in the bandstand in Leamington Spa a couple of years ago and No 3 son Alfie absolutely loved their music. He was dancing away to them and wouldn't leave. He insisted we bought the CDs to take home. They are great fun.

If you haven't tried taking a photo of a party popper going off then it is not easy! Also Alfie doesn't look like he is enjoying himself because he was putting his whole being into blowing that trumpet!

So, last night I actually went out and walked around South Bank at night taking long exposures on a tripod - just like a real photographer :-)

There is a bit of disagreement which one to post. Editorial advisory board (wife and child) were more inclined to one in comments. I like the people in this one but am not really happy with the crop on the top.

Either way, I'm pretty happy with them given they are a 15 second exposure on a iPhone.

Anyway, here we go. Day 83. Boom. Done and Dusted. Tick.

We're Here - **Over-the-Top Tuesday**

Ha ha...guess I'd better put a description in! It's a heather plant in bloom. The Over-the-Top group suggests we take something we enjoy photographing and do an over-the-top version. I like photographing flowers, so I went zoom crazy on it! And because I had to position myself literally "over the top" of the plant, it works on that level too. Boo ya!

I decided to just let the wind blur them:)

Shot on iPhone 6.

Went for a run this morning. It was an ambient temperature of 31C and 80% humidity and it was bloody horrible. I'm not sure how much of this photo was "those water droplets look great" and how much was "I'll just stop here for a while and find an excuse for a rest".

And what am I like after 11km of running in the heat? Well, clearly I have very wet balls.

Worms. What's not to love? This picture is in guilty memory of the time, when I was 5 years old, that I decided to keep a worm in a matchbox as a pet. It didn't end well.

Del Boy's Wheels

Knowing that everything is alright

To the core

So close that door

Is this happening?

My breath is on your hair

I'm unaware

That you opened the blinds and let the city in

God, you held my hand

And we stand

Just taking in everything.

And I knew it from the start

So my arms are open wide

Your head is on my stomach

And we're trying so hard not to fall asleep

Here we are

On this 18th floor balcony.

We're both flying away.

And I raised my hand as if to show you that I was yours

That I was so yours for the taking

I'm so yours for the taking

That's when I felt the wind pick up

I grabbed the rail while choking up

These words to say and then you kissed me...

Just posing (Q) and practicing (me). :) I am super rusty on studio lighting. Fortunately, I have a pretty willing model to practice on as long as I keep the treats handy. :) Have a great night! TGI almost the weekend!! Whoo hoo!

Will be back to catch up later! ♥

Get out of its way

Would love to know the story behind these flowers leaning against the fence...there's got to be a story.

Spent two days in Toronto last week and was able to work in several photowalks. Loved the town except for the weather which made Iowa look like Miami. Will try not to photobomb too many at once. My first stop on Thursday was down to the Harbour where I grabbed several shots of the birds flocking to bringer of bread.

the pimp chronicles

8/10/10

How many times have you heard some dumbass white person say this after giving you a short lecture referencing something against a black person, "Believe me, I got plenty of black friends too”.

Okay. Right there? Do us both a favor and...

SHUT

THE

FUCK

UP!

Just the fact that you need to try to quantify how not racist you are by mentioning all these arbitrary black friends you have is telling me you are bullshitting yourself. You can only make this worse if you start going on about reverse racism and how it’s just as bad as racism.

Just stop. I’m about to puke on you white person if you continue talking. Just stop this cycle of endless bullshit that started with us anyway. You can start with taking everything you think you know about flip side of the issue and realize you don’t know shit. But most importantly you can do yourself a favor by understand this:

We are all racist.

Don’t feel so bad about it, seriously. It’s impossible to be human and not make initial rash judgments about someone who seems different than you. You will naturally come to these conclusions based on your own life, interactions, and experiences. Or in other words: being racist.

Let’s say Wally Whiteman is walking down the street one night in his mostly white suburban community. Barry Blackman approaches him simply walking the opposite direction.

Neither of them gives a fuck about each other and are both just walking home. But I’m betting the entire length of my cock that both of them formed prejudgments based strictly on race and demeanor as they graced paths.

Does that make them both racists? YES! Yes it does. Just because you don’t go around screaming “Nigger” at every black person you meet doesn’t clear you of racism. Racism can be merely felt.

As soon as you accept the fact that you too are a little racist, you’ll be a lot happier. And things will make a lot more sense to you. I bet you’ll even stop mentioning all your imaginary black friends that you don’t have when discussing race with people.

Okay well let’s not get carried away with this now. I wouldn’t go around calling yourself as a racist unless you feel this is an appropriate word to describe you. The person I’ve described thus far is just confused and scared to even broach the topic of racism. They dance around it, don’t feel comfortable discussing it, and are basically in denial of their own feelings and thoughts.

Are you a proud outspoken racist who regularly uses the words seen in this photo to throw your hate around? You’ll know if you are one of those pieces of shit. If so, this little diddy doesn’t apply to you. Please immediately exit stage left, thank you.

So why did Wally form that prejudgment against Barry on that street anyway? Well probably because a lot black people actually do commit a lot of crimes such as mugging someone on the street in or around the cities of America.

But the key here is to understanding that the fact that he is black has almost entirely nothing to do with it. It’s all to do with socioeconomic status of the people living in these cities. Who happen to be mostly black. They grow up in conditions surrounded by this type of behavior. This does not EXONERATE anyone from acting this way. I’m simply supplying you with the RATIONALE.

So pimp, why are many of these areas largely black then? Well you don’t think anyone would want to live there and be a part of that do you? Go to the library or even read about the history of inner cities of America on Wikipedia, it’s actually quite interesting.

If I could just sum this entire fucker up with one bit of advice regarding race, it would be this:

Everybody just lighten the fuck up about it already!

Thank you,

pimp

The beautiful clematis which fills my studio deck with color in summer is dormant now...the branches, usually pruned, have been left, and have formed that circle of branches. Soon it will change to a wall of green and pink. #cy365 #captureyour365 Day85/365 "off prompt"

It took a hand full of carrots and 20 blurry shots before I got this one. I hope her eyes never go bad because she does not like to wear glasses.

I think that will do it for my "Geek Glasses Week" pictures. It was fun.
