My my my, how the time has flown.
There have been times of joy, times of frustration, of laughter, of tears and of worry, but there has always always been love.
I am blessed to have two wonderful children, and it's scaring me how quickly it's going. My little boy is all grown up, starting school in September, and my little girl is getting bigger.... a whole half a year already!
Over the past week she's mastered the art of sitting up alone. Next it'll be crawling - eeeek!

April 2025: A month in 30 pictures - day26
Whoever said blue and green should never be seen had obviously never been to a bluebell wood.
We spent a lovely couple of hours walking around the bluebell wood on the Blickling Estate in North Norfolk.

The old violin
This is my father's old violin. I guess it is close to 80 years old.
ISO 800 - 1/10 sec - f/4 - 187 mm
I know it's getting a bit much with the reflection thing, but I just love spotting these opportunities! Once started, it's sort of hard to stop ;)

Since I've already done two SW pics, taking one bounded as one of my favourite Marvel girls seemed like a good idea!
OK So this one took a little TIME to put together, ; P I took a sequence of several shots each time changing the time taking care not to move the camera or clock! I then stacked the images and gave all of them an opacity of 52% one at a time so I could ensure the alignment. Once I had them all aligned and the hands of the clock looking the way I wanted I merged them all together and then added a new layer filled with an orange brown color and changed the blending mode to burn. Look a bit rusty from ageing over time! ;D Sorry for the puns! LOL
He loves this flying squirrel toy and I kind of forget about it at times. But I couldn't find his ball so I grabbed it today for playtime. He was very pleased.
[day26}
I risked immediate frostbite to get out of the warm car for this shot! The seabreeze added to the already freezing temperature...making it forehead numbing cold!
... but live your dream.
a quote that i always found encouraging even though living the dream is sometimes impossible.
done for 'quotes' in week 4, so this is also 4/52.

Strobist stuff: 1 SB-600 at 1/64 hanging off the shower pole thanks to my handy gorillapod. Bare, trained down on Mr. Claus. (I can't tell you how much I love my new 35 mm 1.8 - I don't have to power up my flashes nearly as much!)
Triggered with cactus V-4s.
30 Days of Perception - Day 26
Under the electric light on my small work table, my eyes became aware of something soft and golden which was out of focus. I turned to look with no expectations or preconceptions and captured the impressions which first pulled me towards them. I did not focus on them intentionally as this is how I first became aware of them.
Awareness in the present moment gives me impressions rather than specific objects I can name.
I just love the mix of mud/driftwood found in this piece of wood found on a hike today...

What I bought today: Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility & Emma, with golden pages :D
And Jo Coenen - Schetsen/Roughs (architecture), a gift from my parents :)
I also bought the movie 'Click' on dvd.
This morning we had a break from the light storm that came in yesterday. There was still enough of the storm clouds around to gather over Bishop's Peak and catch the early morning light.
inspired yet again by the random phrase generator.
