Day 26

On day 25 I met fellow Flickr mate and friend, Richard for lunch at the Great Canadian Poutinerie. I have been toying with the idea of trying out film, and Richard is a master in that art.

He graciously lent me one of his many film cameras (no, not the M6) two lenses and two rolls of film to play and tryout. What a generous offer.

Has many of you know, these last couple of years, there has been a resurgence of film photography. I know I would enjoy the process, tactile feel, and the look and aesthetic of film. However I”m not sure it would fit in my workflow and style of shooting, especially when it comes to travelling.

I will shoot the rolls and see what happens. Thanks Richard for your incredible offer, advice, and knowledge.

Hit of the day: DAY26 - Got Me Going

And like every Monday, Flickr got me invisible on everybody's feed...

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end; then stop.

I was a bit miffed that I'd missed the brilliant orange disc of the setting sun as I left work. Was rather pleased when I walked into the hallway and saw the pink glow from the bathroom window.

I must remember that I now occasionally leave work in daylight and therefore shouldn't leave camera at home. You think I'd have learned that lesson last year...

Only a few days, then i opening my first Exhibition in Second Life....

Watching the sunrise together.

This is my first ever iPhone shot uploaded onto Flickr. I had not planned this shot at all but I was out buying a new TV and saw this and thought "photo of the day".

Two weeks off sounded awesome a day or two ago, but now with a certain degree of pain and a certainly bigger lack of painkillers I'm stuck with mushy Weetabix and more Jeremy Kyle than any man should be expected to handle.

Orchids have always been my favorite flowers. Whenever I see them my heart stops, they are so breathe takingly beautiful. To me they show love, strength, uniquness and power.

Oh my luve is like the melodie,

That's sweetly play'd in tune.

~ Robert Burns: A Red, Red Rose

A poem that's been stuck in my head since I studied it back in highschool (oh, my gosh - it's been TEN YEARS since highschool!! erm, maybe i should not have shared that little tid bit..)

When I see red roses, I often recall this poem. Oh, how I love literature - seriously! But I am an extremely lazy reader - go figure!

Explore: 3 28 '07 Ok, that makes me like it a little more ;)

Ok, I seriously don't like any of the pictures I took today...not even this one. The weather was TERRIBLE! Its been dark, windy, and rainy and I fear I'm going to fall asleep during church tonight because of the drearyness outside. So please bear with my bad photos for today ok ;)

i think you might hate this but grain makes me happy

Nakisha says "-Ebi was wearing a pink tutu running around the cedar tree. Back in the studio Vick and I were sitting and discussing the ring of the day. "What inspired you today?" I asked.

Hence, the Tutu ring was born."

Some pretty tiny flowers (I don't know what they are) seen while walking my dogs this morning.

Below the pool at The Anantara. There I was, lying in the grass, getting as close as I dare, clicking away, when one of the staff walked behind me and just said "vipers" and walked away.

No idea if he was joking!

I love old books. And don't worry, the ones I'm actually standing on are the youngest and least interesting of the bunch (there's a dictionary in there and rather recent copy of Guy de Maupassant stories). These sparkly socks also fall into the category of things I love.

yesterday was one of those days when I didn't take a shot until very late in the day, but I learned how to make bokeh with my fifty, so it's all good.

Theme: FROZEN

"Let It Go! Let It Go!"

Because of course the Disney movie Frozen (not to be confused with the 2010 movie titled Frozen) is the first thing I think about when I hear the word frozen. 😆

The finger paint is very funny!

My my my, how the time has flown.

There have been times of joy, times of frustration, of laughter, of tears and of worry, but there has always always been love.

I am blessed to have two wonderful children, and it's scaring me how quickly it's going. My little boy is all grown up, starting school in September, and my little girl is getting bigger.... a whole half a year already!

Over the past week she's mastered the art of sitting up alone. Next it'll be crawling - eeeek!
